  There are some customer service experiences where you walk in expecting the usual: pick up the keys, sign a few things, pretend to understand the insurance options, and leave with a rental car. Then there’s the Enterprise in Oak Park. I’ve been to this location five times now, and every visit has felt less like renting a car and more like being quietly shepherded through the process by people who have somehow figured out the secret to dealing with the public. At the center of it all is Sam, the manager. Sam is excellent. If you aren’t disarmed by his eyes, you’ll be disarmed by his calm, astute nature. The man can read a room like he’s got subtitles turned on. He knows when someone needs an answer, when they need a moment, and when they’ve already explained their problem three times and just need someone to say, “Yep, I’ve got you.” He listens. He’s friendly. He’s personable. And, perhaps most impressively, he manages to maintain this level of composure while working in an industry where customers presumably arrive every day with some combination of a reservation, a problem, and a story that begins with, “So, you’re not going to believe what happened…” And then there’s his team. They’re kind, detail-oriented, pragmatic, and genuinely attentive. Every customer is treated like they’re the only customer in the world. Five visits in, I’ve yet to witness the “next!” energy that can make customer service feel like an airport security checkpoint. Instead, there’s patience, warmth, and an obvious commitment to getting things right. That’s a reflection of Sam. Good managers manage. Great managers set a tone that everyone else seems to absorb without realizing it. His team clearly trusts him, and it shows in how they treat people. At this point, I have to assume Sam is on some sort of trajectory. If he isn’t running Enterprise in 10 years, I fully expect to see him running security for Taylor Swift—calmly scanning the room, reading the temperature, and quietly deciding who absolutely does not need to be backstage. Give it another five years and he’ll probably be her writing partner too. In summation, this is exactly what good customer service should feel like. I’ve had five excellent experiences at this location, and Sam and his team have earned my trust every single time. If every Enterprise location had a Sam, the rental-car industry would have a much better reputation. Five visits. Five great experiences. Highly recommended.

  I've used Enterprise for decades. I stopped for a couple of years because there were always issues when I would rent from the Oak Park location. There were bad attitudes, they wouldn't have cars, after I'd made a reservation well in advance, it was just an undesirable business atmosphere and I don't do business where I'm not treated well. I had to travel for a family emergency 2 months ago and without thinking, Enterprise was the first company I called out of habit. Before I knew it, I was there and having an amazing experience. Everyone was a delight to deal with. They were welcoming, friendly and very professional, which had not been the case for far too long. Ryan, Sam, and a gentleman whose name I believe starts with a T and has long hair, we're all amazing! They we're all extremely pleasant, efficient and made sure I was completely taken care of and had everything I needed. It really was a welcomed change. I made sure to tell Ryan how pleased I was with their services and that whoever or whatever was responsible for the change, should be commended immensely! Last week, I found myself needing to rent again for the same family situation I originally had 2 months ago. I didn't think twice about reserving from Enterprise! I got the same wonderful service and I appreciate being so well taken care of. Congratulations to Ryan and his staff, they are all doing an amazing job! I hope the company appreciates them as much as I do! I will continue being a loyal customer!

  Avoid this Enterprise at all cost. Where do I begin. Living in OP I have used this Enterprise a lot. It's not the same as it was. Bad service, lying service reps and a charge I feel I shouldn't be responsible for. I wasn't going to write a review, but since they want to come at me with something I didn't cause I decided I will. Where to start. First, questionable service. Long wait times and misinformation by the staff. Being told a desired car will be available only to get there and they don't have any size cars that were requested. Being put in a higher priced rental, however the counter staff not making the adjustment for the price. Being told they should have my desired size car after the weekend only to still not have it so I must continue to drive a higher price car. Then I finally get the car I had initially wanted only after calling and following up with them myself even though I was told I would be contacted once they get the car size I wanted. Then the car was in a hail storm while parked. I initially didn't notice the any damage, but the keen eyes of Enterprise did. I know it's their job to spot potential damage to that's fine. They stated they would have to file a claim with my insurance which I was against given it was an act of nature, but went along with, based on their explanations. They filled the claim and now want me to pay a deductible for a claim that they filed. I was never informed I would have to pay the deductible, only that they will have to file a claim and it wouldn't affect me or my insurance since it was an act of nature. Well that information wasn't true. If the car was on their lot it would have suffered the same hail damage if not more. However since it was in my possession I'm being held responsible. The way I see it ,the person that files the claim is responsible for the deductible. If I file a claim, I'm responsible for the deductible. If Enterprise files a claim then they are responsible for the deductible. In this case I didn't, so I shouldn't be held responsible for a claim they decided to file given I didn't cause any damage to the vehicle. After this incident and talking to others, I've been hearing a lot of negative stories about how Enterprise has been treating their customers lately. A lot of money grabs from what I'm hearing. There are too many other car rental companies to have to deal with the negativity of one! Rent your car elsewhere!
