I visited them today to have my car inspected. They were very friendly and helpful; however, they did have a very long wait time—something I hope they manage to resolve. They deserve five stars.

Quick diagnosis. I chose not to move forward because the car wasn't worth fixing, but Mid-State was quick and pleasant in diagnosing the issue and sharing options.

We were traveling from Chicago to St.Louis when we had an issue with our car. We ran into the owner of this shop at a gas station and he said he could fix the problem. Not only did he fix it but they would not take any money for their service. We were on the road in less than 15 minutes. What wonderful people! Thank you for making the world a little friendlier!!

We lost 5th gear outside Normal Il in our 96 Dodge Diesel 2500. Called Mid State and they knew exactly what the problem was and told us to bring it in. Jerry Adams (the owner) took it for a drive to confirm the issue. Seems the nut backed itself off and 5th gear slid out (apparently a common problem) We told him we were towing a 5th wheel camping trailer home to VA and asked how long it would take. Jerry told us he would work on it himself and it would be done by EOB. THEN they gave us a car to drive!! We got the truck back a few hours later. We couldn't be happier. The only problem we have is that we don't live close enough to reccomend this shop to all our friends with transmission needs.
