  I scheduled an appointment through the website, including with all of my specific vehicle information for a mobile windshield replacement. When the tech arrived, he told me that my car wasn’t eligible for a mobile replacement because the glass needed to be calibrated, which could only be done in the shop. He said a manager would call to reschedule, but no one ever called. I tried to call multiple times to reschedule the appointment, but could never figure out how to get through to a person. I finally was able to reschedule through the app and drove 30 minutes to the store. After waiting for 40 minutes at the appointment, I got a call that the glass was defective and I would need to either accept the defective glass or come back for the third time in order to get non defective glass. I explained to the manager why they were putting me in a difficult situation. He was nice enough, but bottom line said he wasn’t willing to take a financial hit to rectify the situation, even if it meant an unhappy customer and a poor review. Second star for honesty.

  These people don't know basics of customers service. They have me wait 3 weeks for simple windshield replacement. 1st appointment I booked for sat 15th 12 to 5 pm mobile replacement. This guy literally had me wait all day until 8 pm and told me he can't make it. 2nd appointment I booked a week apart for next sat same timing. The guy didn't show up or call until 3pm, I called them and he finally showed up at 3:30pm just to say that he's going to put aftermarket windshield.... Are you kidding me???! Why can't this be communicated with customers before hand???? And now I been waiting for their response ever since. It's been another one full week. Today I'm finally going to switch my work shop. The entire department at this location needs to learn how to deal with customers properly.

  Just recently had two of my BMW x7’s windshields replaced 2021 and 2026 model years and I am impressed with the work quality, and it’s three times cheaper then dealer prices, they also do calibration, so don’t hesitate to bring your vehicles there, highly recommend them!!!!

  I had my windshield replaced at Safelite in Morton Grove a few weeks ago, and it was a complete disaster. They didn't even tighten the wipers, so they wouldn't move, and they promised to replace the windshield again but never did. The sensor stopped working, wind is leaking through the windshield causing it to fog up, and the wipers they replaced don't even seem new. On top of that, the staff was extremely rude. Someone from that location visited my place saying they'd fix it, but then said they couldn't do it alone and told me to reschedule. ​Tomorrow, I'm heading to the Mundelein location to get it fixed. I'll be watching closely to see if they follow the work order properly this time, and I'll update my review afterward. I've had repairs done at the Mundelein location before, and I actually trust them.

  Had windshield replaced for first time with Safelite at Mundelein, IL, location on Rte 60. Repair went well on July 7th, but 2 days later, overnight in our garage, the new windshield cracked. Called next day and was told it might have been afixed too tight. OK, let’s get it replaced and rescheduled. First two appointments were changed last minute b/c they were unable to get glass in. 3rd appointment finally happened August 10th, over a month after it cracked. Technician said it wouldn’t be covered as they found two chips that caused crack. Given I inspected this when it originally happened and there were no chips, I can only conclude that Safelite made the chips to get out of replacing it or something chipped it during the month we had to wait to replace it. Manager was rude and seemed highly desensitized as I’m guessing this wasn’t the first time this happened. Glass quality of replacement windshield is awful compared to original glass, and overall experience trying to talk to anyone via phone was laughable. Do yourself a favor if replacing windshield, go elsewhere, use original or better quality windshield, and avoid Safelite, they are awful.
