    Great customer service. Reliable rental. Easy access to customer service/ texts about arrival and return of vehicle was appropriate. We needed a vehicle for extended time due to a medical emergency & there were no questions asked/ “fair” prices for cost of additional hours.

    Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever experienced such terrible customer service in my life but at this location… We were originally notified to pick up our rental on Saturday between 12-1pm , when we arrived to pick up, the location had closed at 12 and not opening again till Monday. So we scrambled calling all locations with obviously no availability. Then when we called Monday to get our rental they had already given it away to someone else. Zero helpfulness was given at this location, they weren’t apologetic and weren’t helpful in anyway to help us get another rental. Literally we were told “well we can’t help you it’s a holiday week”, like so confused as to why they felt that was an appropriate customer service response. This is absolutely disappointing and I don’t understand how this is the level of quality of customer service that is acceptable. I expected more from this reservation and now my family weekend is ruined from all this lack of decent customer service.

    Edit: On 06/25, I stopped by the store to speak with the staff, in person. I spoke with George and Sarah. The account had been appropriately noted by Sarah about the late return but apparently overlooked by the person there when I returned the car (or they simply didn’t bother to look at any notes on the account). After a nice discussion, George reviewed my account and confirmed the notes and took steps to fix the problem. Thank you George and Sarah. If you have an issue at a store, go back and have a discussion in person at the branch. Corporate is apparently clueless about how to communicate and/or get anything done at the branch store level, imo. I’m changing my review to four stars. Four, only bc the car was just meh, but they didn’t really have any direct control over that particular issue. I give Sarah and George 5 stars for their efforts. **They had also found my sunglasses in the car and had them in the desk drawer. The car attendant had found them. Bonus. I rented a vehicle from the Mundelein store May 18-22 of 2026. On the return trip home, we ran into delays from Wisconsin due to heavy construction and congestion. I stopped at a rest area and called the office in Mundelein to advise them that I was going to be late past my 11:00 a.m. return time and gave them my ETA asked off I should expect to get dinged with any overtime charges? The young lady I spoke to at the office stated, “don’t worry about it, you’ll be fine” (or words to that effect). After returning and getting a clean inspection, I was told by the gentleman in the office that everything looked good and that he’d send me my final receipt via email. A couple of hours later, I received the invoice and I was somewhat surprised to see I was billed $51.46 for the late return. I guess I should have demanded a straight answer about late charges when I originally spoke to the young lady but I assumed, don’t worry about it, you’ll be fine, meant we’ll wave it. I’ve rented a fair amount of vehicles from this specific Enterprise location over a lot of years and have never had an issue. I’ve never had anyone mislead me or use vague statements. A little later in the day, I received a boiler plate text that was supposedly from the Mundelein location, asking me to reply with any questions or concerns that I had concerning the rental. I replied and explained the issue and that I was upset after being told one thing and something different happening. I never received a reply back from that inquiry. I then called Enterprise corporate later that day to inquire with customer service and was told that a manager would be contacting me to follow up and that hopefully they’d find a solution to the situation. No one has called to date. I wouldn’t have had an issue with the $51 had I been simply told honestly and straightforwardly up front, when I called in, “sorry, there will be a charge for the late return”. Is it that difficult to simply be truthful and straightforward? Apparently at this particular location there is now. I wasn’t dealt with in an honest and straightforward fashion, THAT is what upsets me! I made a courtesy call to try and possibly help them make any logistical changes if they needed to around my return time and I get treated disingenuously. If this is what I have to expect from Enterprise going forward, there certainly are other rental companies I can begin to forge a relationship with, going forward.

    Reserved a minivan in advance, but was not in stock at check in. Will not rent me a car because they think I am lying about not receiving a phone call from them. They are the liars. Reviews show their track record. Totally ridiculous.

    Enterprise has gone way downhill in the past year. First I tried to reserve a car at the local Enterprise location in Mundelein. They told me I could not make a reservation in person, I had to do it on line. So I reserved a car on line and did the on line check in. This morning they call me and say they don’t have a car for me and that they can’t find one anywhere near me. I swear it’s like living a Seinfeld episode. I’m changing my business to Hertz
