My car battery died after work on Thursday. A friend helped me jump the battery to get it started. Thankfully, the shop is open late on Thursdays and they were able to take me right away. They performed a free diagnostic test to determine what the issue was. Turns out, the battery in my car was the wrong one! They replaced it and I was in and out in less than half an hour. The battery has a 4 year warranty. I highly recommend Mavis Tires & Brakes in Geneva IL!

I recently had all four brakes serviced as well as an oil change. Everything seemed great- good price and friendly service. A day or so later I noticed a light rattle under the vehicle. After a bout a week I found the issue was a very loose driver side front brake caliper. It was loose to the point that I could thread both bolts hand. I did my best to tighten them and brought the vehicle up to Mavis the next day, 8/9/26. To their credit they took the vehicle back right away and said everything looked good and that was basically it. I tried having a conversation with the front desk representative, but he was dismissive and said they would talk to the mechanic who did the work. He never asked me my name or any identifying information about the work, so I’m not confident they will track the service back to the mechanic. I understand mistakes happen, but loose bolts on a front brake caliper should not ever happen. This is disappointing as I have used Mavis for service on my vehicle for the last year or so and really liked them. At this point, I will find a new place.
