- MMMOct 15, 20211.0Before I bought a battery online, I called the store to see if I could get it installed. Whoever I talked to said if I got there before 7 pm, it would not be a problem. So I arrived at 5 pm. Jim told me that he was the only one there and said that it might take longer that 45 minutes to install. OK no problem. He then proceeded to tell me that they can install only about 10% of batteries. He looked under my hood and didn't know how to install it. He was going to call a mechanic and pay for it out of his own pocket. I told him I don't want him doing that, that's not right. So, here is my problem and why I gave it one star. I wish there were negative stars. Whoever I talked to should have asked what kind of vehicle I have. If they can't change the battery, they should have let me know so I don't waste my time and money. Remind you, I was very understanding through all of this. When Jim told me he couldn't do the battery, I asked for a refund. With some attitude he scanned some ticket and said order cancelled! I said what about my refund. He said I was never charged. I pulled out my phone and try to show him, but when he cancelled it, it must have reversed the charges. He basically was giving me attitude from the moment I walked in the door. If he hates his job that much, he should look for a new one and not take it out on me or anyone else. I will never be back here.

Yes we do offer free battery installation on most products with purchase. We will also recycle and test your battery for free regardless if you bought it from us. Battery testing and installation is available at most of our locations.

Typically a car battery will last 2-5 years, with premium batteries lasting 5-6 years. But you should replace it every 4 years for safe measures if you want to avoid any unwanted problems.

Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
