  My question is this does everything you offer on the hot food area need to be fried ..? What happen to baked food or broiled roast beef, more variety in veggies besides corn and oh green beans boiled to death. How about Mediterranean for a upchange. People us truckers travel All hours of day and night . We enter your establishment looking for good hot food. Not an empty warming cabinet.

  I had brief interaction with Scott while grabbing coffee this morning where I found myself looking for half and half & French vanilla creamer that was out, he quickly made me laugh & offered instant help. Appreciate the hospitality!

  Dear flying j i dont want to hear you complaining about drivers parking along the curbs, scales, or pumps when your own drivers are taking up spaces.

  🇺🇸 Patriot Trucker Review #001 📍 Flying J – Effingham, Illinois I stayed here for two nights and had a very positive experience. The Flying J has been recently renovated, making the store bright, modern, and clean. The showers were excellent—clean, modern, and well maintained on both nights. The men's restroom could use more attention (5/10), while the women's restroom was much cleaner (8/10). I didn't eat here, so I won't rate the food. This location only has the Flying J fast-food counter, but the TA Travel Center with additional dining options is directly across the street. The parking lot is large, well lit, and easy to access. I found parking without any issues, and the location also offers a CAT Scale. There isn't a truck wash on site, but a Blue Beacon is conveniently located next door. Customer service was outstanding. The staff was friendly and professional, and I'd especially like to thank the gentleman cleaning the showers on July 10 and 11, 2026, who kindly offered extra towels after noticing I was traveling with my wife and daughter. Small gestures like that make a big difference. I felt safe staying overnight. The lot was quiet, although a few drivers were moving too fast through the parking area—that's on the drivers, not the Flying J. ⭐ Ratings - Cleanliness: 7.5/10 - Food: N/A - Trucker Services: 8.5/10 - Customer Service: 9.5/10 - Overall Experience: 9/10 Final Score: 86% (34.5/40) 🏅 Patriot Certified I'd definitely stop here again.
