    HORRIBLE SERVICE FOR WOMEN, I took my car there almost monthly with problems, granted old car, but overly expense (and not the parts the labor they charge you) Then they “FIXED” my battery and the car start the JUMP ON THE ROAD, after I asked front desk if I COULD DRIVE IT TO CHICAGO. Returned they did not contact me for 7 DAYS. I had to call, then they claim my transmission is the problem and it’s gonna cost 7,000. PLEASE. Never have I been played as the stupid girl that doesn’t know about cars but Dobbs made sure I got that experience. Also when I brought up the fact I have brought the car in numerous times they state if you don’t state the exact problem they might not look into it. WHT? Like that’s YOUR JOB! Funny how new things keep breaking so my warranty for free repair doesn’t apply. ZERO IF I COULD (SPECIFICALLY THE DOBBS COLLINSVILLE IL NEXT TO WALMART)

    I had an appointment for a tire rotation and oil change, it was for 4:00 pm. I arrived about 10 min early and they took my vehicle right away. I was waiting in the lobby. At about 4:45 I was feeling like it was starting to take a while. A few minutes after 5:00 pm I got up and started walking around. I looked in the lot and happened to see my car parked there but in a different area. I have no idea how long it had been there. I looked into the office and saw the man who checked me in sitting at a desk on the computer. I called out sir, he immediately got up and checked me out. I didn’t expect or want a rush job, but efficiency would be nice. When the vehicle is done check the customer out. They may have needs or appointments beyond sitting in the lobby.

    I had a very disappointing experience with Dobbs Automotive. I brought my vehicle in for what I believed would be a complete diagnostic, but they did not fully diagnose the issue before recommending additional repairs. What frustrated me most was the lack of communication and transparency. At no point before I dropped off my vehicle was I informed that there would be an additional $300 labor charge just to continue with the diagnosis process. This was only brought up after they already had my car hooked up and were working on it. On top of that, they wanted to add another $200 to the already estimated $500 repair cost IF their diagnosis turned out to be correct. If that repair didn't fix the problem, I was told I might have to spend another $200 on a different part. Essentially, I was being asked to approve hundreds of dollars in additional costs without any guarantee that the issue would actually be resolved. I understand that diagnosing vehicle problems can sometimes involve uncertainty, but customers deserve to know about potential labor charges and diagnostic limitations upfront, not after the shop already has possession of their vehicle. Better communication and transparency would have made a huge difference in this experience. In the end, I still paid $200, walked away without a definitive answer about what was wrong with my vehicle, and felt like I had wasted both my time and money. When I expressed my concerns, I was told I could not get my money back. I understand that vehicle diagnostics can sometimes be complicated, but customers deserve clear communication about costs and procedures before work begins. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here, and I cannot recommend this shop based on how my situation was handled.
