  I showed up a bit late for my car, after confirming my rental. Got there and they revealed they had no cars. Employee said he filed for a refund - I had to rush to get another car. So, I guess instead he just marked me as "no show". SIXT says they get to keep my $600+ now.

  Have rented here several times but today was a total disaster. I booked a 28 day reservation two months ago, arrived and no car available! Also a very disorganized and long process to finally get a car. Of course not the car I wanted and had to wait 2 hours. What a mess! But, the bright spot was the service staff who did his best to accommodate me. He was great!

  It all started with placing a rental reservation at O'Hare Airport; they took my money, and then 30 minutes before pickup (I'm 15 mins from the airport in a Lyft), the online check-in told me that the location didn't accept debit cards from local renters. After arriving, I had to cancel my reservation and place a new one at the Lincoln Park location. This put my wife and I 6 hours behind schedule. The lady at O'Hare assured me that I didn't need a credit card for this location. When I arrive at Lincoln Park, the guy tells me I've rented a "credit card car." So now I need to downgrade which is fine, except he botched it (I'll get to that later). Again, their website dropped the ball by taking my money with a debit card just for the agent to, "oh yeah, by the way" me again. Even though I walked in when they opened at 8, I didn't walk out of there with a car until almost 9. Mostly due to their card reader needing an update (everything about this company needs an update!). Sixt needs to refine its website so that when you're renting using a debit card, it doesn't let you if the rental requires a credit card. I know they're able to do this because when I was doing the online check-in for O'Hare, it told me I needed to change my payment method, and when I re-entered my debit card information, it recognized it as a debit card and didn't let it go through or process. Do that from the very beginning instead of burying the lede! It's giving scam! Anyway, about the botched payment; I prepaid $500+ for the "credit card car" and when I downgraded, the guy did not cancel or refund it, but then charged me another $500+ for the new car. 2 days later and I'm still having to keep calling customer service because they haven't closed out my reservation so that the agents can help me. It's probably needless to say, but I'm never renting from this place again.
