  As I age, traveling gets more difficult. But even as an older customer or if I was inexperienced I was extremely impressed with the rental terminal at O'Hare, the customer service with both the check in and return with National. As i walked through the terminal I saw long lines at each of the other rental counters. National had no line. The young man that helped me pick out my car went beyond expectations and the return was so quick I could barely gather my stuff. The person that checked me in even pulled my bag out of the car without asking. It was a perfect experience.

  All of the reps that my husband and I interacted with here were super kind and accommodating. During our return process, we were parked and talking to the rep Austin through the window when we suddenly got rear-ended by another car rental in the garage (LOL). Austin was kind and professional and assured us that we could simply get our belongings and go to our flight without worrying about the damage caused by the other driver. The car itself was pristine until that happened of course. The staff here is lovely and I'll be sure to rent from here again when I'm back in town!

  This is the second time in eight months that I've used National Car Rental in Chicago. The first time was at Midway, where Trenton (nicest guy in the world) recovered my iWatch that I had dropped. I didn't realize it until I was already on the shuttle. I contacted them immediately. Although he responded right away, they have a LOT of cars, so it took about a week for them to find it and mail it back to me. Only complaint there was that it cost $40 to mail a watch to me. Ugh. So grateful, nonetheless. The second time, I picked up and dropped off at O'Hare, where both the pick-up and drop-off were breezy, and the trains were nearly impossible to screw up. Transportation and Information booth people are everywhere to answer your questions. Both times, The Emerald Club made it so that I could simply walk out, pick the car I liked from a pretty wide selection, and drive away—no permission needed. I even got into one car that had a faint vape smell, so I switched to another one without an ounce of hassle. Directional signage was clear and intuitive. I followed the arrows to the exit of the parking lot, and they stop you there at the exit booth for payment and ID verification, so be ready with your driver's license, credit card, email, and address to verify who you are. The employees are very friendly, and willing to answer any and all questions. I am so grateful for National and their zero lines! They've got this thing DOWN!

  I use National/Enterprise all the time. I used another rental company to save a little and it reminded me why I stick to them. No games, no hidden fees, no trying to get something over on you. I am Emerald Club and was looking for something from the Emerald isle but the larger vehicle I needed was in the Emerald Executive isle. I spoke with the person there and because I was renting it and returning it the same day he let me get the larger vehicle for same price. That's the way you treat a loyal customer who has been with you for 15 years!

  I have been a long time customer of National car and they are my preferred car rental company. I believe, in the last 20 years, I have used another company 3 times. After an intersting travel day, I found myself in Chicago when I was supposed to be in Detroit. I rented a car with the desire to return it in Detroit. I was told a one-way rental was not available. Instead of renting with another company, I proceeded with National out of loyalty and figured I would contact them later. When I called them 2 days into the rental, they told me they could arrange for the 1 way rental and return to Detroit but it would cost an extra $400. So I ended up driving 4.5 hours back to Chicago to return the car. I will continue to rent from National, but as a long term and loyal customer I did not appreciate such an an exorbitant fee to return the vehicle at another location. The car itself was registered in Tennessee so not even a Chicago based vehicle originally. Additionally, I am not impressed with the move of the National call center to the Phillipines. Not a great experience.
