car was not cleaned. checkout counter people were having a bad day and rude. started off with a lady that was in a rude mood...finally her computer froze and we were sent to another lane where a man helped us and was in a much better mood and not rude. had to jump through hoops because I reserved the car under my name and we allways use a specific credit card in my wifes name when we travel. had to switch everything over to her name because the card was in her name. I couldn't even use my debit, credit caer because our bank (Prosperity Bank) doesn't put names on their debit card, so they wouldn't take it. not sure why they couldnt use my wifes card since she was in the car with me and showed her ID.
Stressed for nothing! I recommend and always take pictures and videos when I first get to the vehicle.
After about 4 or 5 days I noticed a dent and looked back seeing it in my original photos. The dent was there from the start. So the trip was about 20 days and I felt stressed about the return the whole time. I figured the rental company would say the dent was my responsibility and I would have to prove it was there at the start…etc.
The end of our trip came I pulled up, showed the dent to the staff member and they said it was too small for them to worry about!
I wish I knew the little circle policy regarding this dent and wouldn’t have been stressed my whole trip.
The staff, car, location, directions and everything was great. I am very grateful and pleased with the service provided by Alamo O’Hare Chicago.

I had an absolutely fantastic experience renting from Alamo, all thanks to Nate Tholl. From the moment I arrived at the counter, Nate was professional, welcoming, and incredibly efficient. He took the time to answer all of my questions clearly, walked me through the rental agreement details, and ensured I got a vehicle that perfectly fit my needs. Instead of the usual stressful rental process, Nate made everything fast, transparent, and completely hassle-free.The vehicle was clean, well-maintained, and ready to go. Exceptional customer service like Nate’s is rare these days, and he is a massive asset to the Alamo team. I will definitely be renting from this location again. Highly recommended!

We had an outstanding experience with Alamo. We were renting a car to help with a college move, and the team went above and beyond to make what could have been a stressful few days much easier and more pleasant.
They kindly upgraded our vehicle, which made a huge difference with all the luggage, boxes, and everything else that comes with moving a student into college. We truly appreciated the gesture.
What impressed us just as much was the consistently excellent service at every touchpoint. From the staff at the rental counter, to the team delivering the car, to the return process, everyone was professional, courteous, resourceful, and genuinely friendly.
It was the kind of service that you remember. Alamo will definitely be our first choice for future car rentals. Thank you to the entire team for making our college moving experience that much easier!

Please pay VERY CLOSE attention to the bullshit advertising that this company provides- stating that "all taxes and fees are included" but they are not. I rented a car that I thought was expensive for $67/day (the advertised rate) but then billed at $71/day- (so for Friday afternoon to early Tuesday morning, the total should have been $268 - for a fast, unexpected 4-day trip to Chicago- but I was billed at $71.06/day- Even so, at that higher rate, assuming "all inclusive", the bill should have been $284.24.... but my bill turned out to be $445.16 - Yes, you read that right. There are all sorts of gobbledeguck bogus charges that were added- such as $32 for a "customer facility charge" - (??) and a "concession recovery fee (11.11%) and then the VLCRF charge for another $32.49 (which the agent couldn't explain to me) - and hten the taxes- 1) "Lessor Tax 0.50 rntl- (HUH?)
Auto Renatl Tax (12.0%) - ($38.99) and the Chicago Transaction Tax (another 15%) - ($48.74) - Btw, ALAMO is owned by ENTERPRISE...so renter beware. I will be making frequent trips to Chicago now, and it will be a cold day in hell before I EVER rent from Alamo or Enterprise again. Oh- when I called the 800 number, I had a pleasant person with a thick, foreign accent promising me that some of these unforeseen charges would be returned to my credit card, and that I'd hear from someone at Alamo. I received a curt email from a sarcastic ALAMO rep.
I've left Google reviews before, usually PRAISING companies that have done wonderful jobs or provided service above and beyond- This is the first negative review I've left- and trust me, I'm a nice person, but I'd love to have provided a great deal more of expletive feedback based on the treatment and bait and switch I received. RENTERS BEWARE!
