You better off going to Auto Zone or just go to the other Advanced Auto location near Touhy & Western, which is a way better store with better staff.

Honestly, I had a really good experience, and I drove out of my way to come to this location as it's not the closest to me. I will definitely return. She went above and beyond to help me, and I greatly appreciated it! She was very knowledgeable, especially when I was getting the wrong thing for my car, and she corrected me, which probably saved me time and trouble.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
