- KEKurt ErrthumApr 26, 20265.0Would just like to give a huge shout out to Justine Gumbs the GM of the north mattis avenue advance parts location. I had a broken off fuse in the fuse box and Justine came out looked at it attempted to remove the broken pieces she wasn't able to. She went back inside there was a commercial customer of advance Auto parts that was in the store, Justine told her about the problems I was having and she said that she has a shop and has tools and isn't far away. Her name is Alayna and she works at tire monkey just down the street. She came back with her tools and was able to remove the fuse so I could put a new fuse in and have trailer lights. I can't say enough about both of these women who took the time out of their day to help me out. Thank you very much!!

Yes we do offer free battery installation on most products with purchase. We will also recycle and test your battery for free regardless if you bought it from us. Battery testing and installation is available at most of our locations.

Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
