  My family and I were in the area shopping and suddenly our car started to behave irregularly. We pulled up to this auto zone to check the code from the car. It was reading for a MAF sensor. I’m aware that many things can trigger this code. But having 0 tools, it being 95 degrees out and having 2 hot kids, meat and food in a car that doesn’t want to stay on was stressful, we buy the sensor just praying that maybe itd resolve from Jose who was very friendly initially despite being incredibly busy. He even handed us a screwdriver to change the part right there in the lot. Unfortunately That screw driver wasn’t the right fit so my husband became overheated trying to get the bolts out and ended up stripping one, leaving us little options without appropriate tools. We ended up limping home and doing it in our garage with better tools. Turns out, the sensor he gave us didn’t do much for our problem. I called the store to ask them what the code was and also inquire about a return , as we did not need the sensor. Jose started off friendly once again but as soon as I asked about a return he immediately copped an attitude, claiming he “told us that wasn’t the issue” when he literally said nothing to us about our purchase while in the store, as he shouldn’t because we never asked and he’s not a mechanic. So while he may have had thoughts he didn’t share them with us until I asked to return the sensor. Now he’s suddenly frustrated and saying I told you so. How weird ! I felt totally off guard! I’m like what on earth are you talking about? My husband just shook his head in disbelief. I’m like why are you arguing with me over a question? Maybe they get commission on stuff like that. It’d make his attitude make sense. In a situation where it was that hot with my kids, we tried to see if something would work and get them home safely. It didn’t work out that way. Not Jose’s fault, but he made the experience so uncomfortable and we won’t be back to autozone, period. Turns out by the way Jose, it was the sensor, but the sensor we bought from you wasn’t OEM and turns out Nissans are picky. We bought the correct one elsewhere.
