Had seat repaired in 2024 now the repaired panel is once again ripping. It appears I could have bought a warranty which was not offered and would have cost more then the repair. The original material lasted nine years their replacement only 27 months. Sent a e-mail and got NO response..

Not the same as the last time I came here. I have used Dons several times for my boat seats and they always did a great job in a very reasonable amount of time, however this was maybe 7 years ago. I brought a center council in to have the cup holders enlarged and the shift hole enlarged as my shift lever hit on one side. When I brought it in and explained to the young lady at the counter what I wanted she said she would have to check to see if the shop had the tools necessary to do the job. This should have been the time to walk out. She went in the back and returned with confirmation the shop had tools (a jigsaw) to do the work. She quoted me a time of 2 hours time and minimal material expense. She said she had to tell me a time of 4-6 weeks just because that's the time on the books but that it would be far less because it was such a small job. So they took possession of the part on May 11. They also requested a deposit ( I was never asked for this before ) of 192 dollars. 4 weeks later I stopped in and asked the status of my job. The same young lady up front told me that it had been started but the shop was behind and it should be done in a week. On June 18th I get a call from the same lady in the front asking me which side of the shifter hole to cut, I say the whole thing needs to be enlarged 3/8 of an inch. She says do you mean the top or bottom, again I say the whole thing. She says so on the top? At this point I should have said just stop work and I'll come in,but I said yes, the top and the whole thing. We hang up and the next day I'm told it is done and I get a text saying the hours were 3.5 and that she spoke to management and got me an hour discount because of the time which I though was fair. So I go to pick it up and she asks me how I want to pay the balance, I said I need to see it first. We go to the back and I immediately ask if the shifter hole is larger than when I brought it in, she says no its larger here and points to the top of the shift boot, I said the whole reason I brought it in was because the shift lever hits the side of the opening, everything else was just extra, this is not what I wanted. She said she would have to talk to management about doing more work to it. I said well I certainly don't think I should be responsible for more payment because there was miscommunication and I asked to speak to someone about this before I left because I was already at 600 dollars on a quoted 300 dollar job. She said management isn't onsite and she would call Monday. So I left and over the weekend found a work around by modifying my shift lever. I called Monday morning ( June 22 )and said I would come get it after work and not to do any more to it. I pick it up and leave. When I get home I notice the top left corner is starting to lift from the lower part of the center council, also there is trim on both sides of the top panel and the strips of trim are off about 1/2" from one to the other.I bring it in, apply some adhesive and let it sit overnight and it appears to be ok. So I put it in my car and when I shift to 2nd and fourth and the boot is pulled back I see bare plywood from inside the shift opening hole. I again have to fix something overlooked by whoever worked on this. This whole interaction is a disappointment because Dons had been so good for me in the past. I heard the original owner had recently sold and these are new owners and managers of the business. I had other projects planned for other vehicles for Dons but now there is no way I would ever consider using them again. Poor communication, long lead times, lack of attention to detail on finished product. My phone call about how to modify the shift opening should have come from a tech that knows what parts are called, like am I cutting the actual shift opening or enlarging the leather boot, not top or bottom from the person that answers the phones and doesn't know these things.

CUSTOMER BEWARE, DOES NOT HONOR SERVICE WARRANTY! I paid Don's Auto Interiors to replace the convertible top on my 1999 Porsche 911. Unfortunately, the installation was not completed correctly due to their technician's lack of knowledge and led to multiple issues, including improper top alignment, damage to the new top material, modification of my vehicle without my authorization, and water intrusion that later resulted in additional repairs. Upon pickup, I immediately noticed a few issues: 1. There was a gap on the passenger side between the convertible top and the door frame (this didn't exist before the replacement). The technician said that it will take some weeks for the fabric to stretch out and get fitted to the frame. 2. There were two areas where the top was already damaged (small nicks) which the technician said was due to the top getting hooked by the door. Due to the top getting hooked by the door, the technician also said they had to slightly grind away the corner of my door so that it wouldn't further cut my top material. 3. Last issue and the most minor, the fabric from the interior has a plastic brace that clicks over an interior bar and this kept getting unclipped. Unfortunately, the gap never resolved, and I later learned the top had not been properly aligned during installation which led to water intrusion that eventually led to additional repairs which included the replacement of my water damaged ECU. After discovering the problem, I contacted Don's and had to wait one month and a half for an appointment. When I finally brought the car back for inspection, the technician was unable to identify the exact repair needed and directed me to Porsche for further diagnosis and to replace the ECU that was damaged before they could correct the top installation. Porsche confirmed that the top had been installed incorrectly and required alignment correction and replaced my ECU. I contacted Don’s immediately, and spent months contacting Don’s and their manager Desmond trying to get my installation corrected. Don's offered a replacement top but refused to install it, refused to pay for installation elsewhere, and refused to provide a refund for the installation service I originally paid for. In other words, I paid for a completed installation and correction of any installation-related issues, but the shop ultimately stated it was no longer capable of performing the work. What has been most disappointing is not only the installation itself, but Don's and their manager Desmond's lack of accountability, lengthy delays, poor communication, and lack of a meaningful resolution. I trusted the shop's expertise when I raised concerns immediately after pickup, and months later I am still left with the cost and burden of finding another shop to complete the work correctly. My experience can be summarized as follows: • I paid for a convertible top replacement that was not installed correctly. • I reported the issues immediately upon pickup. • Porsche later confirmed the top was improperly aligned during installation. • I incurred additional expenses for diagnosis and repairs related to the water intrusion. • Months passed while I attempted to have the issue corrected. • Don's ultimately stated they could not perform the corrective installation because they no longer had a qualified technician. • Despite being unable to complete the work, the shop refused to refund the installation cost.

Put a deposit down to get some work done on a boat cover in the Fall of 2025. Weather changed quick, so we spoke about taking care of it in the spring of 2026 when the boat was out of storage. I called back in early June when school/work got out and we started up the boat again. Now they said you forfeited your deposit for an “no-show” is June 8 not still SPRING??? and they want to charge me another miscellaneous nonsense deposit fee before even estimating the job…, again. This place is ridiculous. If you’ve got income to burn, they probably do a decent job. if you want a straightforward answer about literally ANYthing, forget about it. Go elsewhere. Zero stars. Money hungry, and misleading estimates…. Can’t even imagine what else they’d pull, after straight-up stealing my deposit, and then telling me bring the boat in and we’ll start it all over again. How hard can it be to add snaps to an already custom fit cover. Stay away from these scammers.
