  Logan Q and his team went above and beyond for me. I came in to get my front/rear rotor and pads replaced on my German vehicle. Despite the technological barriers that the manufacture implement, to minimize 3rd party maintenance, they were able to do an outstanding job. For reference, I was quoted almost $3k at the local German dealership here in Iowa City. Although I brought my own parts(wanted OEM), factoring in the price i paid for that + the labor from Brakes Plus, I paid 50% less than what I was quoted by the manufacturers service department. Not only was the price and quality of work top notch, Logan Q provided Rolls Royce levels of customer service. He was giving me updated on everything while I was waiting for my car. Logan also offered and provided me with a Lyft ride home so I don't have to wait. Once my car was ready, he offered to send a Lyft to pick me up. I will definitely come here again and will always recommend Brakes Plus to everyone I know! They are extremely knowledgeable, attentive, and customer forward. Thanks again!

  We stopped by with Logan Quinn for an oil change and told us some minor issues the car had. He took the time to set up for a later date so we could get everything done. We speak English and Spanish and although he doesn’t speak Spanish his reassurance, attention to detail and patience is the reason we felt that we made the correct choice. Brake plus is very blessed to have Logan representing them and we will be coming back! We hope to see him move up in his role in the future!

  Brakes Plus in Iowa City installed new front brake pads and rotors 18,000 miles ago. They are now warped and need to be replaced (approximately $470). Their warranty is for only 12,000 miles. The car has over 200,000 miles on it and this was the third set of brakes pads and rotors on it. The first two sets lasted about 90,000 miles each. These lasted 18,000 miles. They now tell me they installed an economy set of pads and rotors. Regardless, it’s pretty crappy their pads and rotors crapped out at only 18,000 miles. All they could say was sorry and maybe it is your driving and braking style. My braking style has not changed over the 200,000 miles I have driven this car. I would not recommend their products nor their commitment to their customer’s satisfaction. They just lost a customer.

  They couldn't use a scan tool to bleed the ABS so they technically didn't complete the job I paid for. I returned the vehicle with squishy brakes after trying to park and barely hitting the curb in front of me. The stopping distance was drastically increased. I was told by the manager they were "in spec". What? Hydraulic fluid doesn't compress, air does. That's the spec. I said I literally had a scan tool that can activate the ABS. They said they couldn't use that one and theirs were all up to date. Well, I didn't offer or request to use MY tools and the car is almost 10 years old. Theres no reason a shop full of techs dont have the appropriate tools. Another tech tried to reverse my car out of the shop with the parking brake on and continued to try and drive until it automatically released itself electronically. Maybe ask another tech or the customer if you're not familiar with what a red (P) means. This location is lacking in their ability to get the job done. I'll add a second star for their willingness to try again but other than that I'd avoid this place. They recommended I take my car to the dealership. The stealership? No thanks. At that point they should have offered a partial refund for the inability to service my vehicle and charged me for the fluid and disposal. Instead I was basically told to kick rocks so this review is justified. Thanks for wasting my time and money

  Logan (Service Mgr.) was direct and concise with his explanation of required parts and services necessary to complete all needed to complete job as well as any finance options (if applicable). Very pleasant to speak with on phone when setting appointment as well as in person. His customer service skills are excellent. Steve (Store Mgr.) provided additional services (including availability of ride from and to store location) while they performed the work. This is a fantastic service offering which was unexpected and highly appreciated. Both Logan and Steve are highly knowledgeable mechanics with super customer service attributes. Will definitely recommend to others!!
