⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Safelite Saved the Day (and My Windshield)!
Apparently, my windshield decided it wanted to participate in a construction project without my permission. 😂 I was driving through a construction zone, minding my own business, when something went flying over the vehicle in front of me. With nowhere to safely swerve, my windshield took one for the team. Unfortunately, it did not survive the encounter. 🪨💥
Of course, this happened right in the middle of my workday, because apparently cracked windshields don't believe in convenient timing!
I scheduled an appointment with Safelite, and while they were booked out a little further than I would have liked, I actually took that as a good sign. A busy business usually means they're doing something right!
When I arrived for my appointment, the staff was extremely friendly, professional, and organized. Everyone seemed to be on the same page, and they took my vehicle back right away. I was originally told to expect approximately a two-hour wait, so I settled in and prepared to become a permanent resident of their waiting room. 😂 To my surprise, they had everything completed in about 50 minutes! Now THAT is the kind of surprise I appreciate!
While waiting, I had the opportunity to watch several other customers come and go. Every single person received the same friendly, respectful treatment. I also overheard a few customers who were pleasantly surprised by the pricing. One gentleman came in expecting to spend a couple hundred dollars on a windshield chip repair and ended up paying around $90! It's always reassuring to see that a business treats everyone well, not just you.
The facility itself was clean, organized, and welcoming. However, I do have a couple of suggestions for the waiting area. First, those chairs could use a little love! 😂 They're not exactly designed for people who want to sit comfortably for an extended period. A comfortable bench, a few cushioned chairs, or even a small table would make a big difference for customers who choose to wait.
Second, not everyone survives on coffee! ☕😂 Coffee was available, which I'm sure the coffee lovers appreciated, but as someone who doesn't drink it, I would have loved some bottled water, hot chocolate, or literally anything that wasn't bean juice. A few additional beverage options would be a nice touch, especially when customers may be waiting a couple of hours.
Now, onto the most important part: the windshield itself!
My vehicle has one of those fancy windshields with all the technology, cameras, sensors, and whatever other wizardry modern vehicles apparently need to function. Gone are the days when replacing a windshield was simply popping out some glass and putting another piece in! Safelite handled the replacement beautifully, including recalibrating the technology associated with the windshield. Everything looked fantastic when they finished, and I appreciated knowing that the safety features were addressed as part of the service.
They also worked with my insurance without any problems, which was another huge plus. Nobody wants to deal with insurance headaches on top of an unexpected windshield replacement!
Overall, I had a really great experience with Safelite! The employees were friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, and clearly worked well together. The service was significantly faster than expected, the replacement was done beautifully, and the entire process was easy from start to finish.
My only complaints are the uncomfortable waiting room chairs and the lack of non-coffee beverage options. Neither of those would stop me from returning, but a comfy chair and some hot chocolate would certainly make the experience even better! 😂
Would I recommend Safelite? Absolutely! Hopefully, I won't need another windshield anytime soon, but if the construction gods decide to launch another unidentified flying object at my car, I know exactly where I'll be going!
Five stars for the service! My backside gives the waiting room chairs a slightly lower rating. 😂
In July 2025, Safelite’s attempted crack repair on our 2020 Ram failed and the crack spread, so we had them replace the whole windshield. On August 29, 2025, a tech installed it but his iPad failed to complete the required ADAS calibration. He said someone else would come out. We heard nothing for weeks, and a second tech finally showed up on September 26, 2025. He couldn’t complete the calibration either and told us yet another tech would be sent.
No one ever contacted us again. Months of silence, then a bill for over $800 for work that was never completed. When we called about it, Safelite hung up on us. Now they’ve moved the account to collections.
I called again on October 5, 2026 and explained everything. I was told a manager would call me back. No one did.
I have screenshots from the tech himself confirming he couldn’t finish the job and asked Safelite’s office to dispatch someone else. Safelite never did. A vehicle with an uncalibrated ADAS system is a safety issue, and instead of fixing it, they billed us and sent us to collections.
Incompetent, unaccountable, and unwilling to own their mistakes. Avoid Safelite, and if you do use them, get everything in writing and confirm calibration is completed before you pay.
