We accept cash and all major credit cards (actual credit cards need presented in person).  The credit card owner must be present with a valid state or federal picture ID on your person, also you cannot borrow another person’s credit card.  Additionally, on towed vehicles or accidents we do not accept checks for release unless provided by an insurance company or hired agent of an insurance company.  Checks are NOT accepted for any impounded vehicle regardless of the situation.  *disclaimer: When using a credit card for any reason on an impounded vehicle/item a photo of the credit card, the ID presented and of the person in front of us will be taken and documented in our system.

Yes, our office is open Monday – Friday from 7a – 4:45pm, unless posted otherwise on Google.  During this time, any vehicle on our property can be paid for in full and released.  It is possible we will be closed temporarily for emergencies but will try to post those on our front door.  Abandoned vehicle property release times are (not removing the vehicle from our property) 9a – 2pm Monday – Friday, excluding major holidays which are also posted on Google.  This time frame allows us to make sure two people are on duty to retrieve your belongings.  “Personal property” is limited to items that are readily accessible from the vehicle and that do not require dismantling of any part of the vehicle.  Approved items released per Iowa State Law are as follows: (1) prescription medication for self or legal dependent; (2) prosthetic devices, durable medical equipment, and mobility enhancing equipment as defined by Iowa Administrative Code 701-220.7 (423); (3) child care items; (4) work uniforms; (5) personal identification; (6) credit or debit cards; (7) cellular phone; (8) laptop computer; (9) electronic tablet; (10) tool of trade which is essential equipment, instruments, or machinery required to perform a specific job, profession, or craft in which the registered owner is currently employed ;  (11) purse or wallet; (12) essential legal, financial, tax, or employment-related records; (13) prescription eyeglasses; (14) hearing aids, (15) dentures; or (16) keys not associated with the vehicle in the custody of the private entity
