If you value communication or accurate scheduling, please be advised that this shop lacks both of those things. I had an engine replaced here for a Duramax pickup. At the start, I mentioned to Colton Ramsey how important it was for me to get updates, even if the update is that there is no update. I had lots of issues with this shop's communication. I could never get them on the phone, they didn't respond to voice mails, and I eventually just showed up to the shop to force them to talk to me. that was the only reliable strategy I found to get Colton to talk to me. At that time, I was transitioning from a project in Cedar Rapids to a project near Atlanta, and the repair wouldn't be done before I left. After I got to Atlanta, I continued to have trouble with communication. I got fed up and left a voice message early one week saying that I was just going to come up to Cedar Rapids and see him in person if he wouldn't talk to me. That got him to call me back and he said that the job would be complete that Friday, the following Monday at the latest. I told him I would see him Friday. I drove up there in the rental I had been driving for nearly two months at that point, and I saw him on Friday as I said I would. I hung out at this shop most of the day each day he was working on it until it was done, and each day he would say "One more day, we had problems." He said Friday, and it was 11 calendar days later when I took possession of my vehicle. I complained about this, and he said that's why he always advises customers to wait until he calls to tell them it's done before they come to pick up their vehicle. I was furious, because I only drove 800 miles up there and waited around for a week and a half because he told me when it would be ready and he was super wrong about it. It cost me a lot of money for the rental car, lodging, and lost wages because I wasn't working. Anyway, I get the truck and it seems to run fine. He got oil in the coolant system so now I have to deal with that, and there was a coolant leak. He called me (I was shocked) a couple times to follow up. Once before the coolant leak was fixed, where he stated that I should go to a shop I trust to fix it, and once after, where he said to send him the invoice and he would reimburse me. I sent him the invoice, I've called, emailed several times, texted several times, and Colton Ramsey has ghosted me without sending me the reimbursement check. There have been a few other problems, like it seems to use a quart of oil every 800 miles. I've been reaching out because he put a warranty on his work, and I get nothing back. He seems to be a good mechanic and he seems to want to do a good job. But holy hell, he cannot communicate or schedule at all. And when I say communicate, it's not just answering or returning calls and messages, it's how he responds when he actually does.
