  Taking a shower here is an ordeal; there are few showers and things move very slowly—it took me two hours just to shower.

  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding Flying J! This is easily one of the best truck stops I’ve visited in a long time. From the moment I pulled in, everything felt well-organized, clearly marked, and designed with drivers in mind. The facility is clean, modern, and very easy to navigate, which makes a big difference when you’re tired after a long haul. Getting in and out of the lot was smooth, and the parking area was spacious with plenty of room for trucks, even during busier hours. The staff really stood out as well. Everyone I interacted with was friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful. You can tell they take pride in keeping the place running efficiently. Inside, the restrooms were spotless and well-maintained, which is always a huge plus for any truck stop. The showers were equally clean and comfortable, making it easy to refresh and recharge before getting back on the road. The food and convenience options were also excellent. There was a wide variety of hot food, snacks, drinks, and travel essentials, so it was easy to grab everything I needed in one stop. The store was well-stocked and organized, and checkout was quick and hassle-free. I also appreciated the overall atmosphere—it felt safe, welcoming, and designed to make drivers feel taken care of rather than rushed. Overall, this Flying J in Altoona goes above and beyond what you typically expect from a truck stop. It’s clear they prioritize cleanliness, customer service, and driver comfort. I would absolutely stop here again and highly recommend it to anyone passing through the area.

  Always short staffed, No one knows how to open their email account to print out some documents. It is not that it’s a free service either.

  Good clean showers. Hot delicious food. And friendly employees! Not sure what her name was but the blonde headed lady that was cleaning the showers was doing an amazing job and working hard to keep up with the inflow of drivers 👍. Joe was working the front and although someone didn't call in and missed their shift and he was working the front all in his own, he was so friendly and still had a good work attitude. That goes a long way especially when you're running the front area all on your own. Hats off to you sir. God bless this store and the good people who work there. This is going to be one of my new favorite truck stops. Oh yeah..... Joe has the coolest hair style for an older gentlemen. I just wish I could still grow hair because that's how I would want mine.
