  I recently visited Kauai for my honeymoon and ended up booking our rental car through Alamo. Let me rewind a bit and explain how I got there. Originally, I had booked with Dollar Thrifty, but after reading the reviews, I quickly decided to cancel that reservation and switch to Alamo Lihue because of the much better feedback. I am so glad I made that decision. Once we arrived, the process was incredibly smooth. We checked in, gave them our name, and were told we could choose any vehicle from our selected row. We ended up picking a 2025 Mazda CX-30, and it treated us wonderfully throughout the entire week. I also want to give a huge shoutout to the staff at both check-in and return. Everyone was friendly, professional, and made the experience completely stress free. Our experience with Alamo truly went above and beyond, and I would absolutely rent with them again.

  I don’t usually “review” car rentals but I was very impressed with our return experience. Besides being very easy and fast, we went over a bit beyond the time it was due, as we did not fully understand what/if any grace period there was, before we went into a zone of extra time = extra cost. The rep was very accommodating and we really appreciated that and will now rent from Alamo again when in Kauai! Way to go Alamo! Chee-Hoo! VictorB

  Had such an amazing experience recently renting here. The agent helped us find an appropriate upgrade when we realized the vehicle we had reserved would be too small for our all of our luggage. He showed us both available options which enabled us to make the best choice for us. We really appreciated his efficiency and customer service attitude throughout the experience.

  Loved my car rental. The process of picking up and dropping off the rental was quick and easy. All interactions with staff were great. Friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and helpful team members. Car felt safe, comfortable and reliable. Best car rental experience!!!!

  As a traveler who values efficiency, my experience with Alamo at Lihue Airport genuinely exceeded expectations from start to finish. The online check-in process was a standout feature - by the time I arrived, everything was already handled, and I was on my way in under 10 minutes. That was especially meaningful since I had family waiting at the airport with luggage. The ability to walk through the lot and personally select my vehicle within the same reserved model category was a thoughtful touch that I truly appreciated. It gave me the freedom to choose a car that was clean, fresh, and in great condition - something that makes a real difference, especially at the start of a trip. The vehicle itself was newer and well-maintained, which made for a comfortable and enjoyable experience throughout my stay. At drop-off, I did encounter a minor hiccup - despite two attempts, the fuel gauge wouldn't read as completely full. I brought this to the attention of the staff member receiving the vehicle, and she handled it with professionalism and understanding, assuring me it would not be an issue. That kind of responsive, no-hassle customer service is exactly what travelers need. Overall, both the pick-up and drop-off experiences were seamless. Alamo at Lihue delivered exactly what a traveler hopes for - speed, flexibility, clean vehicles, and courteous staff. I would absolutely recommend this location and will be returning for my next visit to the island.
