  The staff at the Alamo in Hawaii were very courteous and helpful. That is remarkable because we had arrived very late due to a late flight and it was nearly midnight. They were patient with all of our questions and gave straightforward answers and recommendations of where to go for late eats and locations. They were down to skeleton staff after hours, but they moved at least 5 groups quickly as we could pick the car we needed right off the lot. There were not many cars to choose from, but that is understandable at our hour. The ones that remained were in nice shape, including two late-model Camrys. The cars were very clean and performed well throughout our trip. The check in was also fast and very friendly. The manager complimented me on how we packed the car! It was a pleasant trip thanks to Alamo.

  We recently rented a vehicle from Alamo at the Honolulu Airport (HNL) and the experience could not have been smoother. After a long flight with family and luggage, the last thing you want is to stand in a massive line at a rental counter. We used Alamo's "Skip the Counter" feature ahead of time, which was an absolute game-changer. The walk to the rental location was straightforward and well-marked. We bypassed the main desks entirely, went straight to the vehicle lot, spoke with a friendly representative and had our vehicle in minutes. The return process was equally a breeze and the Alamo rep was courteous and efficient. Clean car, excellent customer service, and zero hassle. We will absolutely use Alamo next time we visit the island!

  We got a flat tire in the pickup truck we had rented. Called Alamo to see what to do, they told us to change the tire ourself and then go swap out the car at an Enterprise rental car office. Luckily I am fairly mechanical and could figure out how to lower the spare tire down from up under the truck, but I mean the average driver wouldn't be able to, or be expected to, fix this tire. The Enterprise office we were told to go to was not aware we were coming, nor did they have a vehicle to swap out for the truck we were renting. It was huge waste of time for nothing. We just drove on the spare tire until we returned the truck to the airport a few days later. Very disappointed in the customer service we received.

  when i showed up, the reservation was under me, but my brother was going to be the driver and pay for the car. we were told he cant be because i made the reservation so we would have to make a new reservation. we said that was fine and were told they don't do that and its on us to figure out how to make a new reservation. so i was forced to keep reservation and when asked to make my brother the driver they said for another $30 a day he can be, even though my parents were able to do it for free. when we booked the reservation it was $560 and when picking up the car we were told the bill was $700 and when asked why, the manager said we have $140 in fees to pay. i told them we were quoted $560 from our city when i booked it and he just said well it is what it is and I'm not changing anything. so i than called my contact in my city and he tried to talk to the manager in Hawaii, the manager just told the manager in my city he's in a different region and has no power and cant do anything about it and the price is the price. he than went on and kept rubbing it in to me by saying he's in a different region and what he says goes and i cant change anything. he was very unprofessional, rude, and could care less about his customers. i will never use them again. we also found out we paid double what my parents and grandparents paid for their cars. p.s. when we were also there the lady next to us was having similar problems and he was just as rude and could care less to her as well and basically told her it is what it is and leave if your not happy.

  There was a lack of communication between the associate at the area of the garage area. Who told a group of us renting/driving 3 different vehicles that the person who reserved the vehicle need NOT be in the vehicle when WE arrive at the gate, as long as the driver of the rental was listed as the second driver of the rental. Which 2 of the cars we rented under the primary renter were being driven by the contracted 2nd drivers. This caused a delay at the gate by a different associate who held us up, asking for the primary driver that was in a different vehicle and wasn’t present while at the gate. The gate associate held us up for several minutes till another associate came to verify that it was okay to let us pass through The same associate at the gate asked us for a contract after being told everything was digital and we weren’t required to have hard copies because everything is digital. This was very frustrating, being told one thing by the garage attendant and the gate attendant saying something different. This was the issue of poor communication regarding procedures, within the company and being inconvenienced. Other than that everything else was good. I would have given a 5 star instead of 4 stars. Thank you
