- RTRaymond TabataJun 22, 20264.0The rental car from Alamo, a Nissan Altima, was fine. My only complaint (which applies to just about every rental car from other companies) is that side mirrors are not properly cleaned. The water mineral deposits render them practically useless, especially at night when headlights obscure them. Even in daytime, the mirrors cannot be used safely when there's light from the rear, such at sunset with the sun behind the car. I rely on the side mirrors to see cars on my side. The solution is rather simple: use vinegar or similar solution to remove the mineral deposits (before they harden and become semi-permanent). This is not the first time I've complained about this common problem with rented cars--but apparently the simple solution (no pun intended) has not been adopted throughout the car rental industry. Cheap and effective--and safer.
