The problem was not JUST that the restroom was unavailable—after driving for 7hrs, cars outside filling up w/gas & going to spend more on snacks---it was the way we were treated. The employee's tone came across as dismissive, condescending tone, and rude from the very start. When we explained that we really needed to use the restroom, the response was lacked of any empathy or professionalism. Just it has a closed tape and ita closed. It wouldve went diff if she didnt have a quick smart remark. When I questioned whether businesses are required to provide restroom access (as in its against the law in some states to not have public/customers restrms in certain establishments), & hey it could not be true here, i just simply asked esp our situation, and the employee responded in a confrontational manner rather than simply explaining that there was a plumbing issue from the VERY beginning. A simple, courteous response such as, "I'm sorry, our restrooms are temporarily closed due to a plumbing problem," would have completely changed the interaction. But after giving attitudes from the beginning and not until i didnt like her remarks and stated that question was when she w/a disgusting attitude said well is it against the law if theres a plumbing issues. Disgusting. Its just so sad and disgusting how ppl communicate now a days. Everyone has difficult days, but customer service still matters. I hope management addresses the way customers are spoken to, especially travelers who may already be stressed and simply looking for basic assistance. Sunday June 21st 830pm.
