My sister and I visited this location on Aug 27th of 2026 to get a detailed assessment of our mother’s vehicle. My sister wanted to do something special for our mom by getting everything that may be needed on her vehicle corrected. However, the gesture was turned into dismay very quickly. She originally worked with a guy named Austin who called to provide her with updates on the assessment, which included a thorough breakdown of what was needed. She was originally told new tires, and an alignment. They agreed that service could proceed and that an oil change would also be included “complimentary.” Well shortly after she told service to proceed with the services, she received a very aggressive and disrespectful call from the manager “Rodney.” He called without even greeting her, by saying, “You need a battery.” I heard the entire dialogue. She said ok, hello, he continuously stated that you need a battery. He then stated, “Your vehicle won’t start or move, we jumped it, you need a battery.” She said, “It was working when I brought it and that I would like for them to get it back working when I retrieve the vehicle. He was extremely combative and unprofessional. I watched my sister get overwhelmed and uncomfortable. As how quickly this all took a turn. We decided to reach out to the Thomson police department and wait for the authorities to arrive. However, he was very tight lipped when we walked in with the authorities. What started off as a nice gesture for our mom, turned dark very quickly. We’re not from around here. Nor from the area. But I do travel for work around the Augusta areas to help my sister with her accounting firm. I believe Rodney thought he could bamboozle her into paying more monies, because she had already agreed to 800 dollars! I was astound to see the amount of restraint my sister had, considering the disrespect she was met with. However, when we both arrived, our mother’s vehicle was back working! I do not recommend anyone to patron this location! We have already involved authorities and local broadcasters to follow up on our concerns. Please Do Better!

He was extremely combative and unprofessional. I felt overwhelmed and uncomfortable. As how quickly this all took a turn. I then released the call. I then immediately called back and stated to Rodney, “You didn’t start the call by saying the alignment and oil change was a success.” He stated, “It was a success, you need a battery.” I said, why are you so combative and aggressive?, You’re talking all over me.” He stated, you need a battery. I said, “Please have the vehicle back working and I’m on my way to pick it up.” He said, “I’ll roll it out and it’ll be sitting there.” I stated, “I’m calling the police.” He replied, “Ok.” I did just that. I called Thomson police department and they met me there. I did not want to have any further interaction with this individual as I was extremely uncomfortable. He, still made it his mission to try and show his dominance when authorities arrived. However, he was very tight lipped when we walked in with the authorities. What started off as a nice gesture for my mom, turned dark very quickly. I live in Buford, GA. Not from the area, but I do travel for work around the Augusta areas. I believe Rodney thought he could bamboozle me into paying more monies, because I had already agreed to 800 dollars! I am a controller, so I’m privy to what leadership looks like. Rodney is no leader. I teach my workers about professionalism and integrity. Rodney has neither. Please provide more ethics and compliance training immediately, as I was in utter shock of such behavior. I have reported to all local news stations. I have also made contact with Human Resources for Mavis in New York. All in all, I would never patron here again. I have also told friends, family, colleagues etc about my interactions and to not patronize all entities as well.
P. S. When I arrived, my mother’s vehicle was back working!
I visited to get an oil change and a mishap occurred where some of the transmission fluid was drained-although the process of getting transmission fluid changed was lengthy Austin and Rodney have impeccable customer service skills and handled the situation very professionally. I definitely will go there again. Also, hats off to the mechanic for catching the error and working so hard to get it fixed.

We were pulling a travel trailer and had 2 flat tires within 3 miles of each other. We took the flat tires to Mavis and Rodney; Austin and the rest of the team went above and beyond to make sure that we got the best care. We ended up purchasing 4 tires. The team mounted two of the 4 tires and sent us on our way. I changed the two tires and headed back to the store. It was approaching 5 pm which is closing time. Rodney and the team were happy to stay and make sure that we got all 4 tires mounted and changed. Their professionalism, compassion, and friendliness stood out as people who really care about their customers. Thanks guys, for helping us through a rough spot on the road. Your kindness will be echoed to all of our friends and family. GOD Bless you all!

The best service I have ever had. Got an oil change at Walmart and within 20 hrs my car is out of oil. Had to walk to buy oil and barely make it to Mavis. Austin and Ben were wonderful. Explained everything in detail helped me get my car back running. If you need service on your vehicle go see Mavis in Thomson GA off exit 172.
