  During a routine oil change at Valvoline, my oil filter was not properly installed, which led to a complete oil drainage just a few days later. This created a dangerous situation where my engine was nearly damaged due to running without oil. I raised an official complaint, but the initial technician sent to inspect the issue lacked the necessary knowledge and performed only a superficial check. Later, the manager visited and acknowledged that the filter had indeed been improperly placed. Throughout this process, Valvoline’s customer service was slow and unresponsive. They repeatedly tried to shift the blame unless I provided detailed documentation and pushed for proper evaluation. Customers should be aware that you may need to advocate strongly for yourself to get issues addressed. This experience has made me extremely cautious about returning for future services.

  I’ve been using Valvoline on South Cobb Drive for a few years now and they are always very respectful and efficient. Marc and David got me in and out this morning along with being nice guys.

  I’m not someone who typically leaves reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience because I’ve been a Valvoline customer for years and this was, by far, my most disappointing experience. I visited this location on Friday for a routine oil change. When I arrived, I was directed to Bay 1, it took approximately seven minutes before anyone greeted me, followed by another 15 minutes before the oil change process actually began. Mind you, the cars in Bay 2 & 3 came in right after me and left before me. What concerned me most was that I was rung up and charged before my oil change was even started. I was given a receipt indicating that several routine checks had already been completed—including my battery, lights, windshield washer fluid, etc.—when those things had not actually been checked. I also specifically requested that my tire pressure be checked because my tire pressure light was on. The oil change itself was also concerning. After the old oil was drained, an employee began adding new oil but only pumped for about a minute before walking away. I then waited again. When the original employee returned and checked the dipstick, he realized there wasn’t enough oil in the vehicle and had to add more before finally getting the level to where it needed to be. I was then told I was finished and was about to be sent out of the bay without my tire pressure, lights, or windshield washer fluid having been checked. When I pointed this out, another employee (David) apologized and immediately took care of everything. David was the one employee throughout the entire visit who seemed genuinely attentive and concerned about making sure my vehicle and my experience were taken care of. What made the situation even more disappointing was hearing the original employee tell him, when asked why those items hadn’t been checked, “We didn’t have time.” The reason I have continued going to Valvoline over the years is because I appreciate the convenience and the feeling of confidence I get knowing that the small but important details are checked every time. As a woman, that peace of mind is especially important to me. I don’t have to be an automotive expert to feel confident that my vehicle has been properly serviced. I understand that businesses get busy, and I don’t expect every visit to be perfect or immediate. However, I do expect services to actually be performed before being marked as completed, and I expect my vehicle to be properly serviced before being told I’m ready to leave. This experience has unfortunately made me decide that I will not return to this particular location. I will continue using Valvoline, but I’ll gladly drive farther to visit another location where I know I’ll receive the level of service and attention I’ve come to expect from the company.

  Extremely disappointing and frustrating experience. I visited this Valvoline today for an oil change, oil filter, cabin air filter, and tire rotation. After leaving the service bay, I immediately noticed that something felt wrong with the tires while driving. I did not even leave the property—I went straight back and explained the issue to the person in charge. Instead of taking responsibility and properly checking the work they had just performed, I was initially told to take the car to a full-service mechanic and have them look at it. That was extremely frustrating because the issue occurred immediately after their tire service. After going back and forth, they eventually agreed to redo the tire rotation. I specifically asked whether they had actually fixed the issue or simply returned the tires to their original positions. I was told that the issue had been fixed, but based on what I experienced, I was left questioning whether the problem was actually addressed or whether the tires were simply put back where they were before. What made the situation even worse was the attitude of the staff. Rather than acknowledging the concern and making an effort to reassure the customer, I felt like I was being treated as a problem for bringing an issue to their attention. Unfortunately, this isn’t my first bad experience at this location. Previously, when I owned a 2008 Mercedes-Benz C300, I brought the car here for an oil change and they overfilled the engine oil. The car subsequently gave me problems for the next couple of days. When I called them, I was told not to drive the vehicle and that they would come the next day. When I explained that I needed to get to work, I was essentially told that they were not responsible. I ultimately had to risk driving the car back to the location myself, where they corrected the issue. Mistakes can happen in any business. What matters is how you handle the mistake afterward. In both of my experiences, my biggest issue has been the lack of accountability and customer service after something went wrong. After these two experiences, I personally will not be returning to this location. Please double-check the work done on your vehicle before leaving.
