- AOAngie Owens3 days ago5.0Pulled into Advance Auto to purchase an air filter. Once we purchase the air filter and we swapped it out and our rogue would not start. We had some crazy errors. We went inside and talked with Todd and he came out immediately and helped us check to see why we were getting the errors on our vehicle. Figured out we needed a battery and gave us a few more tips on how to make our car more user friendly along with installing the battery for us. He was a very polite young man and very respectful. He is a wonderful employee and an asset to your company. I will suggest giving that young man a raise. You need more people like him working for your company.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
