Ashley and Brittany were incredibly rude, unprofessional, and dismissive. I have never experienced such a complete lack of customer service. As someone with Type 1 diabetes, it can be difficult enough to find products I can enjoy. I reached for a Pure Leaf Zero Sugar tea that was directly behind a sign advertising “Buy 1 Get 1 for $1.” The fine print specifically stated that the promotion applied to 18.5 oz Pure Leaf products. At checkout, the discount did not apply. I asked the employees to look at the sign with me. Instead of trying to resolve the issue, they told me the promotion did not apply because the bottle I selected was not pictured on the sign. The sign showed regular and Lemon Pure Leaf products, even though they don't even carry the Lemon variety, while the fine print clearly indicated that 18.5 oz Pure Leaf products were included. What made the situation even worse was being told that I should “just get the regular sweet tea.” I explained that I am diabetic and cannot drink regular sweet tea. Rather than showing any understanding or attempting to find a solution, I was met with “well, I really don't know.” That response summed up the entire experience: no effort, no hospitality, no professionalism, and absolutely no concern for the customer. At the very least, the sign should have been taken down or the promotion clarified. Instead, I left feeling embarrassed and humiliated over something as simple as trying to purchase a drink I could safely consume. This experience was completely unacceptable. McDonough deserves better customer service than this. I will not be returning, and based on this experience, I would strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere.
