I used the Advance Auto App to get some brake rotors and brake pads, however I unintentionally placed my order to a different Advance Auto location due to an emergency. Tonya, one of the staff members, understood right away that I was at the wrong store when I arrived, but Kim, the store manager, overheard us talking and was able to help keep me from having to drive to other store. She call the other Advance Auto and informed the management of what happened and that they had the parts in her store and that she would be able to help me after explaining the scenario over the phone. I was astounded by this experience and am incredibly grateful to Ms. Kim and her team. I wholeheartedly endorse this Advance Auto location. Considering that I was having a difficult morning, the professionalism and expertise surpassed my expectations.

I'm guessing its a new manager there because the face was unfamiliar. she was talking so bad about the people she was working with, mind you these people are the reason I would continue to come back even though there is an auto parts store within walking distance from my house. you never know who is listening or can hear you, and to be honest that's not a good trait. it was very unprofessional and rude to hear and I can only imagine how she talks and handles her team. The manager before her would have never handled anything like that. I will not be back!

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle.
