  Bad experience. Tech replaced windshield, he took it for a drive, came back and said the calibration was a success. A few minutes later I started the car to move it in the garage and the dash message said the Pre-collision system failed. Now I can't get a response from Safelite. Follow up. We were in St Augustine, Florida last week. I was able to get the collision system checked by Safelite there. Turns out one of the connectors for the camera was not properly fastened when the windshield was replace by the Macon tech.

  SAFELITE technicians are awesome! They took the time to explain the entire process in detail and made sure I understood each step along the way. Their knowledge and professionalism regarding the replacement of my windshield were superb. I truly appreciated their patience, expertise, and commitment to providing excellent service.   I don’t know what kind of repair service they have, but their customer service is terrible. We had an appointment window from 1-6 pm. The windshield was meant to be for my car which was wrecked and required inspection, so we rented a trailer and scheduled the inspection appointment and our work schedules around this Safelight appointment. We received a call at 5:05 that they were cancelling our appointment. They tried to say that they had tried to contact us earlier, but that is untrue, as we had been literally sitting at home waiting for them to call or show up all day. Of course, now all other shops are closed. Very unprofessional. Would not recommend.

  This location is good at sending techs out, which is what they should be good at. Otherwise, their techs seem to be in a huge rush and incompetent. I had 3 appointments for one window replacement because communication, amongst other things is terrible. No one in this day and age has time for that crap. The Macon location of Safelite needs a lot of work. I will never use Safelite again, and will use what I know to actively work against Safelite going forward, because of them. Nice job. Fellas.

  Our experience was excellent! The only snag we had was when the company called needing my VIN number to ensure getting the correct part. It was a recording when I answered but I was at work in the middle of a job. I hung up, knowing I would call back as soon as I was free. Well, I called back the number that appeared on my phone, since it was a recorded message and I had not been able to listen to the whole message at the time, the number was not valid. We spent hours trying to get my VIN number to someone. You just cannot talk to a human or add it to the website. Finally, my husband entered a chat and explained we needed to talk to someone. The next day he received a call. We were very frustrated with the fact we couldn't talk to anyone. We almost cancelled and went with another option. Once the person called from the chat message, we were finally at ease and the process from that point was excellent! Our technician was awesome and everything was left spotless and top notch!
