- NCNyiefa CumberbatchAug 23, 20261.0Scathing Review Absolutely terrible customer service and an extremely disappointing experience at this Advance Auto Parts location. I purchased a battery that was still under warranty, yet when the battery continued dying after already being charged, they refused to honor the warranty in a reasonable way. Instead of standing behind a product I paid nearly $300 for, I was told they needed to keep charging and testing the battery again. The customer service was just as frustrating as the situation itself. I ultimately had to go somewhere else and purchase another new battery because I could not keep dealing with a store that refused to resolve the issue. I will never patronize this location again, and I will be filing a formal complaint with corporate regarding both the handling of my warranty and the customer service I received. If you expect a company to stand behind what it sells, I strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere.

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
