- AAAbigail AllenApr 30, 20261.0My sister needed to get a battery, true she arrived twenty minutes to closing, but two women working there said that they wouldn't help her because it wasn't a safe area. She had to beg them to jumpstart her car. Imagine, two women, telling a woman "no we can't help because its not a safe area" so they leave her to figure out her car's battery issues herself. At night. I guess let's hope her battery doesn't give out before she gets home. Would really hate for her to breakdown in an unsafe area.....Jesus.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
