When we got ready to go out of town, we noticed the one wiper was not working properly as it was too big. We were on a schedule so instead of making a long drive back to the service center, we went to our neighborhood Advance Auto Parts store. Sheila came out to our car, looked at the wiper and immediately knew what we needed. She replaced the wiper with a Rain X blade and we were on our way in 10-minutes. Without her help, we would have been delayed or had the wrong wiper blade for our road trip. Thank you, Sheila!

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle.
