- LSL SteeleJun 20, 20265.0Unfortunately, my car broke down in the parking lot of this Advance Auto Parts location. What could have been a very stressful experience turned into one of the best customer service experiences I've ever had. After my car wouldn't start, I went back inside the store for help. The cashier (Jasmine) immediately stepped in and began assisting me. Shortly thereafter, the General Manager, Tameria, came outside to help diagnose the problem. Together, we determined that the car needed a new alternator. To make matters more challenging, it was an extremely hot day, and I had my sick husband with me. The staff went above and beyond by helping me get him out of the car and into the store, where they provided him with a chair and water while we waited for a mechanic to arrive. Although I purchased the alternator, the store did not have one in stock. The exceptional service didn't stop there. Once Tameria learned that a mechanic was on the way to install the part, she personally drove to another location to pick up the alternator so we wouldn't have to wait any longer. I have rarely experienced this level of kindness, professionalism, and genuine concern for a customer. Tameria and her team turned a difficult situation into a positive experience, and I am incredibly grateful for their help. I will absolutely recommend this Advance Auto Parts location to anyone needing parts or assistance. Thank you, Tameria and team, for going above and beyond!

What are the signs of a bad car battery?
Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
