- CKChristopher Kulhavik5 days ago1.0apparently the professionals in the store aren't professional enough to change the battery in my simple Chevy truck the computer screen says that it must be installed by a professional which tells me that advance Auto parts employees are not professionals and their hands are tied by some rule that I guess I don't understand you offer battery installation but with a caveat....... I was stuck I was stuck in the middle of Atlanta Georgia with no place nearby except for you and O'Reilly's Auto parts which provided no service as well...... you need to get your act together

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
