  Robert the sales man was decent but the general manager Matt or whatever he is is not recommended. Was happy up until he said I’m not pushing through to the banks with 500 deposit. We won’t hear anything back until Monday I canceled buying the camper. Really upset me when he said he wasn’t pushing to the banks without 500$ because it’s closing time.

  We had some damage to our RV. I talked to parts and was transferred to the person handling fender skirts. He received my vin. He never called me back nor emailed me. I went to the location to pick up other items in the store and asked for him"Charles" after some time he came up, showed me his clip board of to do and said he couldn't. look it up today and would call me. Three weeks after the initial two weeks before and still no communication at all!! I called the Columbia Camping World and in two weeks I picked up my fender skirt. Also, Im in Augusta a lot with appointments. Went to get new tail lights for my 5th wheel. After seeking advice from one of their "experienced" staff he directed me to a tail light set that probably would work and said if not I would need to go through parts and order it. I got it home my husband opened it and it only had two wires, so it wouldn't do alm the functions a normal RV requires 9f a tail light. I took it with me when I picked up the fender skirt in Columbia. They pulled the correct me right set off the shelf and I returned the incorrect one. I depend in Camping World to provide support after the sale! We have bought two RVs over the years. I hope these issues can be corrected.

  Bought a Motorhome, Obed our sales person was very knowledgeable. Matt the store manager was very personal he made you feel so at home. They are both very helpful and Amanda keeps the fellas in Check. She was Amazing with her follow up and presences to get the job done and making you feel at home. You can tell they all Love their Jobs! What a Great Team!

  I can’t say we had a good experience. The sales associate we had was not up front or clear on what was needed before hand for financing. Was told it would be ran and we would hear back in the morning. I never heard back so that afternoon I called and was told they couldn’t check for lenders until a $500 deposit was made. This was not mentioned night before when submitting information for lenders. Also we were told that if we didn’t pay for the $2400 package that the used camper we were considering would not be inspected to make sure everything worked or cleaned prior to pick up which is ridiculous considering they charge $699 for docking fees etc.

  Whoooo boy. Not a great experience. See the end of the review for some tips based on our experience. Short Version: * Beware if you are coming from out of town * We came from out of state looking to trade for a trailer we liked. They got a deposit and our credit, we arrived, then they left us sit for two days(!) with no numbers, and on the second day held our trade-in camper behind a gate for most of the day. We eventually had to chase down the general manager to get it back so we could leave in time to be at work the next day. Giant waste of time, money, and gas. Long version: We told them we were on the way to do a deal, and they were happy to take our deposit and a credit app, but when we arrived there was no tech scheduled that day to value our trade. (They could have mentioned that before we left?). We ended up having to sleep there in their parking lot. The sales person mentioned 3 times (after our deposit) that someone else was coming to look at it and was *very* interested. The next morning they took our camper to inspect, held it behind a gate, then left us sit all day with no updates or numbers (after sleeping there..). We had to be to work the next morning and it was a long way home. We tried paging the salesperson, who didn't show. So we eventually chased down the GM to give us our trailer back.. He seemed annoyed that we paged him, and just said "You want your trailer? Fine, I'll get a forklift to bring it out". No apology, just annoyance. So we left around 3:30pm with no numbers, a hard credit check, 80 gallons of burnt fuel, and nothing to show for any of it. Putting the pieces together, here's what we think happened: We negotiated the price down before we came. There was someone else who was interested and willing to pay more. They couldn't sell it out from us with a deposit, but they knew we had a hard limit of how long we could stay so they ran the clock until we left. These are the people you will be dealing with. No smile is genuine. It's a pure numbers game. All camping worlds seem to have really high reviews. Seems odd (maybe some marketing involved?), because both of my camping world experiences involved waiting for hours and hours. Car dealers, while not fun, at least somewhat respect your time. With camping world, I feel like the wait is baked into the sales psychology. The whole sunken cost thing seems on purpose. If you still plan on dealing with them, I'd highly recommend: 1. Sell your trade privately first, if at all possible. I know it's a pain, but the difference will be $1000s. 2. Get your own financing. Super important, and not difficult. 3. Go look at the camper, but then leave and work out all numbers remotely. Don't come back until a deal is ready to sign. 4. Do not purchase a warranty from them. Get it direct. They are an unnecessary middle man, and will take a cut. They will try to push all kinds of things on you.. from insurance to warranties. 5. Look at the fees breakdown! It's negotiable. For example, they have a $2500+ fee for a tour and some accessories. 6. Do not get too invested in a particular model. They work hard to get you emotionally invested and use it against you. Before you set foot on their property, be at peace with walking away. We were dumb, and did not follow several tips above. We allowed ourselves to get invested, and to give them all of the levers. Never again. Don't repeat our mistakes. Their goal, like most pressured sales, is to get you on the hook. The more levers you give them, the more they will milk. Put yourself in a position where you are just negotiating the price of the camper, and that's it. One lever. If you choose to deal with them, I truly hope you have a better experience than we did.
