Let me set the scene. On Saturday, July 18th 2026, my mom and I visited El Tesoro in South Downtown Atlanta. We parked in the LAZ Parking Dogwood lot. The parking lot is open, not gated, and requires you to pay through a QR code. Upon parking, I scanned the QR code and paid a little bit over $20. LAZ Parking states that the parking at the Dogwood lot is free for the first 2 hours, but has to be validated by receiving a code from one of the local South Downtown restaurants and businesses. The money you pay to park is only charged if you do not validate. LAZ parking sends you a link right after paying where you can put in a validation code. The directions were clear and understood which I appreciated. We walked to El Tesoro and purchased a meal. We asked upon leaving the restaurant about 30 minutes later, what the validation code was, the employees responded with ET17. I clicked the link to validate that was sent via text. For the next 10 minutes, the link to validate would not load. Wifi was tuned on and off, cellular data was turned on and off. We even tried on a different phone. Eventually, my mom and I had to leave. We decided to call the number provided on our booking receipt. The number was to the LAZ Parking 100 Luckie Street office. The voicemail box was full. I was able to leave a voicemail on a second voicemail box from another extension. I then sent an email for customer service requesting a refund. I also left a review on this Google page. Upon Monday morning, I wake up to a response on my google review, the owner claiming they only had gated parking. Imagine my frustration when I had left both and email and a voicemail to the number, and the first response I get is to my google review claiming I was confused. Additionally, the response to my review claimed to want to help but left no method of contact, and the number was still straight to voicemail. My email had not gotten a response yet. I email the support email again and upon 15 minutes get a call. The man, although responsive and friendly, seemed upset I had sent an additional email so fast from my Saturday email. I explained to him I only sent another email because I was contacted through my google review first. He explained that the review response was not from him. He claimed to only be able to give me a partial refund. He said I should have validated right away, which is untrue. I tried to explain to him why that was not possible and he insisted I went through the process wrong. I told him again that the validation link did not work, and that I was guaranteed free parking and he argued back. I explained again that I did try and validate within the first 2 hours and he said it had to be done “right away.” I explained that is not what was said. At that point, I was being called to work. I accepted the partial refund. I want to make multiple things clear. The owner of this parking deck and office needs to understand that their office services AT LEAST one other parking lot across the city. Second, if you respond to my review, give me a way to contact you. Do not be passive aggressive. Third, there is clearly a hierarchy issue within LAZ. Who responded to my google review and why weren’t they aware of what parking lots their office services? Why aren’t they aware of their phone number? There needs to be a way for customers to understand who they are contacting. If the phone number and email on my receipt are correct, then the contacts should be working together in some way. It seemed to be that neither party that contacted me understood what was going on, nor how to handle the situation properly, or how the Dogwood parking lot functioned. I respect that the owner of this lot was probably just confused. But that means there is a bigger systematic functioning issue within LAZ parking management, and no easy way to give feedback on the issues of its customers. I will surrender that 8 dollars I lost to such incompetent service. All that needed to be done was for LAZ to admit the validation link did not work, apologize for the error and refund me.

Beware. There is no real organization so getting out of the garage is a nightmare as people who don’t prepay have to pay before exiting at the gate. It’s like they conjoined two separate parking garages so the layout lends to the chaos. We were concerned we weren’t going to find parking when we prepaid. Some of the spaces are TINY. The elevator was out. The only real benefit was its proximity to the tabernacle.

The parking is close to the venue. Its a reasonably safe area or at least seems to be. Parking attendants were polite. The electronic ticket reader was having issues but I dont know if this is an everyday occurrence.
