  My experience with Gerber and the at-fault insurance paying was a smooth process, overall. Pros: Transparent pricing Text messages to kept me updated while car was being repaired Pleasant customer service Cons: Windshield crack was determined to be pre-existing, even though it spread from a small dot to a crack across the entire windshield after the accident. I was told discussions would happen with insurance but never heard details on that. I repaired this independently paying myself. Left rear floor mat was missing when I picked up the car. Called about this and never got a response after that. Floor mats are around ~$150 and I haven't replaced this - it only comes in a set of 4.

  Do Not Use This Location I strongly caution anyone considering Gerber Collision & Glass (Midtown) for their vehicle repair needs. My experience was marked by frequent miscommunication, significant delays, and a lack of professionalism that made an already stressful situation far worse. 𝗜𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲 𝟭: Inaccurate & Misleading Communication The shop's automated text system sent status updates that were completely inconsistent and inaccurate — at one point indicating my vehicle was more than halfway complete, only to follow up the next day stating it had entered the disassembly phase. When I raised this concern, I was told to ignore the automated messages and differentiate them from representative updates myself. That is not an acceptable standard of customer communication. If your automated system cannot reflect accurate, real-time information, it should not be in use. It created confusion, eroded trust, and made the team appear disorganized. 𝗜𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲 𝟮: Unreasonable Repair Timeline This was a side mirror replacement — not a body repair requiring paint or extensive labor. It took two full weeks to complete. I called every other day seeking updates because the automated notifications were unreliable and multiple estimated completion dates came and went without resolution. No customer should have to persistently follow up on a straightforward repair for two weeks. 𝗜𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲 𝟯: Failure to Follow Through & Dishonesty On the final day, I was told my vehicle would be ready by 4:00 PM — a commitment that had already been made and broken on at least two prior occasions. I never received a call confirming it was ready. Instead, at 5:45 PM, I received a call asking if I was coming to pick up my vehicle. When I pointed out that I had not been notified, the representative insisted she had called — which was factually incorrect, as I had no missed calls or voicemails from the shop. This kind of dishonesty is unacceptable. 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 I will not return to this location under any circumstances and intend to follow up with USAA regarding how Gerber remains on their list of approved repair shops. The level of service delivered here does not meet the standard that USAA customers expect or deserve. I wish I had read the existing negative reviews before choosing this shop. Consider this your warning — look elsewhere.

  I brought my suv in for repairs and the team did a wonderful job. I really appreciate them for taking care of my car.

  I have taken my car here twice in the past year, both for claim-related repairs where another party was at fault so I was dealing with another insurance. Gerber has made otherwise stressful situations easy for me and the repairs have been quality both times. The first repair was right before I had to leave on a long trip and they completed it very quickly so I would be able to take my car home before I left the trip which I really appreciated. I was in no rush for the second repair but they still pre-ordered the parts and completed it in about 3 days and kept me updated the whole time. They also helped me with a misunderstanding on payment from the other party's insurance company without hassle. Service is great, I don't remember who helped me the first time but this past time was Chloe so shout out to Chloe!

  The estimator got an attitude with me because I asked her why they didn’t give me a curiosity call and tell me my car was broken into. My car was seriously damaged but they decided to take their time moving it which led to my car being broken into 3 times within a week… they then proceeded to lie to my insurance and blamed it on me. lol they don’t take accountability nor care for the people. If it’s something simple I'll trust them but if it’s something that passes paint or glass. Don’t trust them. All I wanted was a call and they failed to do that. Then to get mad at me for asking questions is ridiculously. Get a new estimator that knows what they are doing.
