Justin provided an amazing service today. He was quick, efficient, cost effective, and left no stone unturned when it came to my vehicle. I dropped my car off for either a tire plug or worst case a new tire at 8:30AM on a Wednesday. I was told by the gentleman working the front desk that my car would be ready within a an hour for a plug. I then received a call an hour later letting me know that they couldn’t plug the hole and I did indeed need a new tire. We walked through tire options and settled on one that they had in the store(because I drive for work and needed my car back as soon as possible). An hour after this, I received a call letting me know that they did not in fact have that tire in store and would need to order it from another store, but it would get there within a few hours and my car would be ready that afternoon. I waited and waited and never received a call letting me know that my car was ready, so I called the store- no answer.
I called back first thing the next morning and a new gentleman answered the phone. His name was Justin. I asked if my car was ready and he let me know that the gentleman I had talked to the previous day had never even placed the order for the tire. When I tried to clarify what the issue was- Justin abruptly and rudely cut me off and said “well if you let me finish…”, he offered no apologies or explanation. After going back and forth, he assured me 100% that my car would be ready that afternoon. To nobody’s surprise, my car was in fact not ready that afternoon.
I called back at 9AM the following morning, and Justin again let me know that my tire was to be “hot shotted” over, meaning it was on a priority delivery and would be there within the hour. I called back every hour on the hour, and my tire did not arrive until 2:30pm. At which point Justin told me that my car would be ready in 30 minutes. I got to the shop right at 3PM and was met by the gentleman I’d worked with the first day. He nonchalantly told me that he’d go check on the car. He disappeared for over 40 minutes. At this point I was convinced that something had happened to my car, and these two men had been stalling for days to figure out what to do. Finally he comes back and tosses my keys on the counter. I was offered no apologies, no explanations, and only after persisting did he knock my bill down from $380 to $320.
This was an absolutely horrible experience and I’d never come back nor recommend Dekalb Tire to anyone I know. The people in this store need to learn manners, respect, and apparently common sense.

I’ve been going here for years and they’re always nice, quick, and accommodating. They’ve patched many tires, filled me up with air and replaced a number of sets for me.

I cannot say enough good things about Justin, the manager at the Mavis Tire inside Dekalb Tire. I was facing a huge headache after Tires Plus changed my tires but kept my wheel lock key. When I called them, they insisted I had to bring my car back to resolve it, which would have been a massive, frustrating hassle and unexpected cost.
Justin took the stress off my shoulders. He offered to call Tires Plus directly on my behalf. Thanks to his intervention, the other shop actually dropped off my wheel lock key directly.
He went above and beyond to protect my time and fix another company’s mistake. It’s rare to find this level of integrity and care in automotive service. They have earned a customer for life…
