I am extremely disappointed with Midtown Tire/Goodyear because I trusted them with BOTH of my vehicles—my GMC Terrain and my Volvo sedan.
Recently, I took my GMC Terrain in for an oil change, brakes, and tires. When I got my vehicle back, it was running noticeably louder and sounded like something was wrong with the exhaust. After about two weeks, I took it BACK to Midtown Tire and specifically asked them to check it because it had NEVER sounded like that before.
An enployee told me he drove the vehicle, they checked everything, and he could not find anything wrong with it.
Yesterday, I considered taking it back again because my vehicle still was not running right, but something told me to take it somewhere else. I’m glad I did.
The other mechanic opened the hood and IMMEDIATELY noticed that the compartment housing the air filter was extremely loose. That compartment is supposed to have FOUR screws. Midtown Tire only put two of the original screws back in, they were screwed in so tightly that the screw areas were stripped, one screw was completely missing, and another was some random screw. Now I have to replace the box because of the damage.
So I have one question: If they actually test-drove my vehicle AND they thoroughly checked it like I was told, how did they miss something another mechanic noticed almost immediately after opening the hood?
It gets worse. I specifically asked Midtown Tire if they top off fluids during oil change service and was told, “Yes ma’am, we do.” Guess what? There was NO windshield washer fluid in my truck. None.
This is not an angry rant. This is disappointment. I trusted this shop with TWO of my vehicles. I even trusted them enough to bring my GMC BACK and give them another opportunity to find out what was wrong, only to be assured there was nothing wrong.
Now I’m left with another repair bill created by Midtown Tire, and when I contacted them about what was found, all I got was that they would “let the manager know.”
Trust is everything when you hand someone the keys to your vehicle. Mine is gone.
If I could rate a zero I would!
