- SRStephanie Ralston3 days ago1.0Incredibly rude manager , Jorge I believe, . We (my son & I) came down to return a trailer hitch I purchased a week ago ; it was the wrong size for our truck. I had my son go in and ask about returning it and the employee gave him a cart to bring it in (very heavy item) . The trailer hitch had not been touched ! It still had the plastic wrap around it. We also had the cardboard box it came in , in its entirety, but it was bent in a couple of places. We also brought in the receipt. When my son came back in the door the her was informed by Jorge that he cannot accept the return. Very poor customer service and very sketchy about their return policy . I have never been treated this way about a return at any Advance Auto parts Now I am stuck with a brand new trailer hitch that does not fit my vehicle. Definitely my last purchase with AA Parts .

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
