Be careful, their hose scratched my car!!!
Our family was excited when this car wash opened and planned to use it regularly. I had washed my white vehicle here several times without any issues. However, when I brought my black Genesis, I had a very different experience.
While vacuuming the trunk, the vacuum hose was not long enough, so I had to pull it tight to reach the area I was cleaning. Somehow, the hose rubbed against the side of my car and left multiple ugly scratches along the paint. I noticed the damage immediately and stopped vacuuming. I was upset and in a hurry, so I left and called a professional detailer to get advice and an estimate. After speaking with my family, I returned to the car wash to report what had happened.
The manager was polite, took my information, and told me he would review the security footage. The next day, I received a call from the owner. Unfortunately, instead of trying to understand the situation or review the evidence, he immediately accused me of lying. He told me that in 17 years he had never heard of a vacuum hose scratching a vehicle and insisted it was impossible.
At the time, I didn’t know this could happen either. That’s why I reported it—I wanted the owner to be aware so it wouldn’t happen to someone else. I have since learned that vacuum hoses scratching vehicles is a well-known issue. A quick search online shows many similar complaints from car wash customers across the country.
I asked the owner to review the video. He refused. I offered to bring my car back and demonstrate how the hose could make contact with the paint so we could determine what happened. He ignored that offer as well. He told me not to contact him again and to speak with his attorney, but when I asked for the attorney’s contact information, he never provided it.
What disappoints me most is not the damage itself—accidents can happen. It’s the way I was treated. Instead of investigating the issue, reviewing the footage, or attempting to resolve the matter, the owner immediately accused a customer of being dishonest.
I expected a business owner to take pride in customer service and be willing to address concerns professionally. Sadly, that was not my experience. Based on how this situation was handled, I cannot recommend this car wash. I am considering pursuing the matter in Small Claims Court and will update this review as things progress.
P.S Response: You did not review the camera footage because you specifically told me there was no point in doing so.
If you actually read my original review, you would understand that my biggest concern is not the scratch itself, but the way customer complaints are handled. I paid your business to clean my car, and instead I am left dealing with damage caused by your equipment.
Dustin Freeman, the General Manager, was rude and unprofessional. He told me not to bother him because I was calling his personal phone. First of all, he was the one who called me from that number. Second, he told me to contact his attorney, but when I asked for the attorney's contact information, he refused to provide it.
What is even more surprising is that a General Manager of a car wash seems unaware that vacuum hoses can scratch vehicles. A quick internet search shows countless examples of this exact issue. Instead of immediately accusing me of lying, perhaps you should consider using softer protective materials on your hoses. The hose made of hard plastic, and when hard plastic rubs against paint, scratches can occur. And if you look at the scratches, you would see that they are perfectly aligned with the shape and pattern of your hose!!!!!
Accidents happen, and I would have understood that. What I cannot understand is the dismissive attitude, refusal to investigate, and the way I was treated as a customer. That level of customer service is unacceptable.
