I had a mixed experience at this AutoZone location that ultimately left a negative impression.
When we first arrived, the employee helping us was an older gentleman who was very kind and clearly doing his best to assist us. He seemed to be struggling a bit with the technology, but he was patient, respectful, and exactly the kind of person you want helping customers.
Unfortunately, things changed when the store became busy. The manager, Joel, began loudly reprimanding this employee about a delivery while he was still helping us. The employee couldn’t hear him, stepped away briefly, and was then criticized again—this time for leaving the customer. It was uncomfortable to watch and came across as disrespectful and unprofessional, especially toward someone who was genuinely trying.
The manager then reassigned us to another employee and eventually took over our transaction himself. At that point, I felt dismissed when trying to explain what we needed (which we had already gone over multiple times). Instead of listening, he interrupted, pushed unnecessary products after we had clearly declined, and delayed our checkout in the process.
I understand that busy moments can be stressful, but the way both customers and employees were treated in this situation was disappointing. The initial kindness we experienced was overshadowed by poor management and lack of respect. I hope this location takes steps to improve how situations like this are handled.
