  I had an extremely frustrating experience with SIXT today. I came to the downtown location prepared to rent a vehicle and had my money ready to pay, only to be told that the address on my ID had to match the information associated with my debit card. What makes this even more frustrating is that this is the SECOND SIXT location that has given me a hard time. I previously went to the Sarasota airport location and was told I needed a debit or credit card to complete the rental. I wasn’t aware that they did not accept Chime, so I made the trip to the downtown location thinking I would finally be able to rent a vehicle. I explained that I currently live at a different address and even had utility bills and other documents in my name showing where I currently reside. Everybody does not have the time to run to the DMV every single time they move just to immediately update the address on their ID. There were several ways the employee could have at least tried to help me, explain alternative documentation, or see if there was another option available. Instead, she was extremely dismissive, inconsiderate, and rude. I also explained that I had taken an Uber all the way there. After being turned away, I then had to pay for another Uber to get back home. I spent approximately $60 going there and back just for my time and money to be completely wasted. That is what makes this situation so upsetting. Had SIXT clearly communicated ALL of these requirements beforehand, I could have avoided wasting $60 in transportation costs and making an unnecessary trip. And once I was already there with proof of my current residence, the least the employee could have done was show some basic customer service and try to see what options were available instead of simply dismissing me. After having issues at two separate SIXT locations, I am extremely disappointed with the customer service and lack of clear communication regarding their rental requirements. Customers should know every requirement before they spend their money traveling to a location just to be turned away. This was an absolutely terrible experience. The employee’s attitude made an already frustrating situation even worse, and based on my experiences at both the Sarasota and downtown locations, I would not recommend SIXT.

  I had a great experience with SIXT Rent a Car, especially because of Amanda R. She was professional, welcoming, patient, and very helpful throughout the entire rental process. She made everything easy to understand, answered my questions clearly, and made sure I was taken care of from start to finish. It is rare to receive customer service that feels genuinely attentive, but Amanda went above and beyond to make the experience smooth and stress-free. The rental process was efficient, and I truly appreciated her positive attitude and professionalism. Thank you, Amanda R., for the excellent service. I would definitely rent from SIXT again and recommend this location to anyone looking for a reliable rental-car experience.

  I had an absolutely wonderful experience at SIXT Tampa Downtown. A very special thank you to Akeem and Nalyannie — they were incredibly kind, patient, professional, and genuinely helpful. They took the time to answer all my questions and made me feel very well taken care of. The entire process was quick, smooth, and easy, with almost no waiting. The location itself was very clean and well organized, and the car was beautiful, new, spotless, and in excellent condition. Everything exceeded my expectations. What really made the experience special was the people. Akeem and Nalyannie went above and beyond with such warmth and positive energy. Exceptional customer service like this is rare, and they truly deserve recognition. I will absolutely choose this SIXT location again. Beautiful car, immaculate location, efficient service, and genuinely wonderful people. Highly recommend! ❤️

  When we arrived at the rental car hire office at our allotted time, it soon became clear that the car we had booked – or an equivalent – was not available. We were asked to take an alternative car which was of a slightly higher specification. We were in America with suitcases and soaring heat, so we felt we had no choice other than take the car being offered. My wife noticed the member of staff added in $300 for an ‘optional upgrade’ . We challenged this on the basis that there was no option other than ‘take it or leave it’. To our face, the member of staff promised to remove this false charge. When I handed the car back at the end of the holiday, I received an e-mail containing a PDF invoice where the $300 had been added in back in. I spent an hour or so on the ‘phone trying to get the money back. There was no hint of an apology, nor a suggestion that this had been some sort of genuine error.
