    As a National Executive Elite member, I do a lot of travel and recently decided to rent from this location and redeem my free days. Upon arrival, staff were nice but when I asked about the availability of a specific model, no one would help me and instead pointed me to walk the emerald and executive aisles by myself in search of it. Upon return, the return agent barely asked me any questions and made no inquiries into my rental experience. As I was about to board the tram back to the terminal, I noticed a Credit Card Charge come through for $300! I returned to the location and was able to find a Manager who helped me uncover that I was inadvertently charged for 2 additional hours. If the return agent had simply slowed down a bit or asked more questions, that could have been entirely avoided. However, the fact that this location is so casual in how they treat elite member’s credit card information and the lack of importance they place on billing accuracy has me doubtful I’ll ever rent from this location ever again. If you do rent from this team, I highly recommend checking over your bill before continuing on to the airport.

    I want to give a huge shoutout to Marissa and the entire National Rental Car team at the Tampa Airport! From start to finish, they went above and beyond to make sure everything was absolutely perfect. Their professionalism, friendliness, and willingness to help truly stood out and made the entire experience smooth and stress-free. Thank you all for making the rental process so easy and enjoyable. I highly recommend the National team at Tampa Airport to anyone looking for outstanding service!

    I am writing this out of genuine disappointment with National’s Executive Status tier. In March, I went on vacation and was upgraded to a Genesis GV80 by the branch manager in Dallas. Because of that spectacular customer service, I decided to formally upgrade my status with National. I went out of my way to get a whole new credit card specifically to achieve Executive Status, truly looking forward to the amazing selection I always saw marketed for the Executive Aisle. Imagine my surprise when I went to the Executive Aisle at the Fort Lauderdale branch and it was the exact same selection as the standard Emerald Aisle. When I talked to the attendant, he dismissively told me to "just choose from the regular cars." I had to fight with him just to get a manager. I expected the same care I received in Dallas, but the lady here said she really didn't have any more selection and could maybe get me a Palisade. After a 10-minute wait, they gave me an Atlas instead. I took it but asked if I could change the vehicle at another airport, which they couldn't tell me. I even contacted phone customer service while there, but they said they couldn't do anything and told me to find a branch manager myself. Finally, after another 10 minutes, the lady came back with a Palisade and I switched vehicles, but the entire experience was deeply disappointing. I later contacted National to see if I could switch vehicles for my upcoming stop at Tampa International. The customer service agent said I could, but when I reviewed the new email reservation, it just stated a standard full-size car. To avoid facing the exact same situation, I looked at the Executive Aisle before turning my vehicle in, and once again, it was the exact same basic selection. There were no special or upgraded cars at all. To make matters worse, amidst the logistics and frustration of dealing with this service breakdown at the Fort Lauderdale branch, I left my personal duffel bag behind there. I couldn't even call the branch, so I had to fill out a request online. The bag was a gift from my aunt, who passed away. I may never get that back. I did a lot of work and took on a new credit card I didn’t want because I believed in the value that National promises its loyal members. Instead, I feel like I did all that work just to get the same standard cars. Right now, the status feels entirely meaningless unless you happen to luck out and talk to the right person. I truly hope corporate reviews the fleet management and consistency at these locations.

    Normally my experience with National is exceptional at any airport, not the case with Tampa. We arrived and went to the executive area and the car choice was poor, Jeep Compass mostly and a couple smaller cars. As an Executive Elite, I am entitled to a class upgrade, and always get a high end SUV everywhere else. The first employee was rude and when asked, he tells me to go back to the booth, he’s busy. I go to the booth and ask the man what he could give for an upgrade, being Executive Elite. He says the choices in the Executive section are the upgrades and won’t do anything to assist and walked away. This is the 2nd poor experience with customer service in Tampa, there won’t be a third. I will rent from another provider when in Tampa, all other locations have my loyalty to National

    I have NEVER had a pleasant experience at the Tampa Airport location. There is ALWAYS some reason why I cannot get the vehicle requested. I have not come across one friendly employee at the whole location. I am recommending to my company that we go with a different rental company based on the way that I was treated by the employees at this location. My choice would be to not ever use this location again. My status is Executive Elite. I never want or need any of the exotics but as I have to transport 5-7 people with luggage for at least a month, I do need a larger vehicle that I can NEVER get. There is always some excuse by the staff even though there are always large SUVs sitting only steps away. A corporate account renter should be treated better. I have personally witnessed large families, that happen to be of color having the same problems from the same employee that appears to be in a supervisory position. Certain customers are forced into subcompact vehicles and told that it is their only option regardless of rental status, while other renters mostly couples or single renters are offered the more spacious vehicles. I am VERY disappointed and surprised with this location as others that I have used in different airports have been great.
