- JBjessica boykinJul 29, 20264.0Jeshua was quick and courteous. I wish I would have known that there was a separate cost for installation. That was not explained to me during my initial call with Kyle Friedman. I was also unaware that there would be an additional fee for calibration payable to the service center monthly that is in addition to my biweekly amount. That was a disappointment, the lack of communication with Intoxalock. Also when I spoke with Intoxalock to confirm the installation fee, I was informed that I will owe another 82.00 with my first payment. It should be made clear. Do your do diligence, consumers. Save yourself the aggrevation.

How does an interlock device work?
Once the device is installed, drivers blow into the car breathalyzer mouthpiece to provide a breath sample. The device tests for breath alcohol content (BrAC) within the legal limit. If it's under the limit (typically .02), then the driver can put their keys in the ignition and start the car.
