I had a great experience from start to finish! Started off with liking a 22 Hyundai Santa Cruz online. I was communicating with Omar Rodriguez to see if the numbers work before I see the car. He listened to my interests and what I wanted. Omar made it happen with great communication and executed it very quick! Then I was able to go to the dealership the following day… My sales rep was Anthony ( The Man,Myth, The legend) Diaz! He was able to pull everything up with Omar put together.. I test drove the vehicle which I love! Anthony made everything go smooth and i finalized with Mike Carmaker which was in finance.. I got the wrap warranty at a good rate which I highly recommend to get!! It is a no brainer!! My monthly payment is exactly where I wanted it at! with a good deal and trade-in… my next vehicle someday will be a newer Hyundai Santa Cruz and I will definitely deal with Brandon Hyundai Tampa… I live in Saint Pete and it was definitely worth going there… 👌🤗.. Thank you Omar! Anthony! And Mike!
I am very happy with Brandon Hyundai, I will definitely recommend them to people that I come across with!!
I just want to take some time out of my busy schedule to try to help every single customer living paycheck to paycheck.
With the economy the way it is, the housing market, unemployment, recession, and everything else going on, on top of all that you're now having to purchase a vehicle.
But here's some good news, guys. The new FTC law prohibits dealers from adding additional dealer fees outside of the advertised purchase price. This means if a car is listed at $35,000, the dealer must include all dealer fees, electronic filing fees, and all the other nonsense fees in that advertised purchase price. From now on, the sticker price should be the "all-in price." Dealers know this, but many act like they don't.
To every person buying a car, please don't just accept everything a dealer tells you. Hold them accountable to the law.
This dealership did exactly that. They advertised one price, then added a bunch of nonsense fees. They even tried to intimidate me by bringing in a manager who told me it wasn't his fault that I didn't read the fine print. But the screenshot doesn't even say what he claimed. It clearly states those dealer fees are profit for the dealership.
On top of everything else, they don't even have the vehicle listed on their website until next month. I've never dealt with a Hyundai dealership like this.
I told them from the beginning, if you can't match my countless trade offers, please don't waste my time. Not only did they refuse to give me a trade estimate, they sent me a buyer's estimate with no trade information at all. Then they tried to intimidate me.
I will never be intimidated.
To everyone looking for a car, tell the dealer you will only pay the advertised purchase price plus legitimate government fees. That's it.
Good luck, guys. I truly hope your experience is far better than mine. I would personally steer clear of this dealership.
To all dealerships out there, the FTC is cracking down. Please change your deceptive ways. Remember, you may be a dealer, but at some point you also need to buy a car. That makes you a customer too.
Do better.
My experience with Brandon Hyundai was wonderful buying our used 2025 Hyundai Tucson. The staff were very friendly and helpful with zero pressure from the dealership. They worked with us to meet our financial expectations and get us into a car we love. There are three people I want to single out for the work they did.
Abel Gomez: We have relied on Abel in the past for all of our service needs. He has been a tremendous help dealing with car issues in the past which is no fun but he always got our family vehicles back on the road as needed. When we were in the market for a new car, we contacted Abel, who gave us some advice and information then helped set up an appointment with Abdias “A.B.” Marte to start the process of shopping for a vehicle for our family. As long as Abel is there, we will always go back for any services we may need.
Abdias “A.B.” Marte: A.B. was so nice, helpful and patient as we walked around looking at different vehicle options. He had the vehicles we were interested in ready to test drive and even showed us a few more cars one of which was the car we ended up purchasing. He worked with us giving us numerous options on getting the numbers right on our side and making sure we were super happy with the purchase. He was so helpful in this process and was always there to answer our questions and see what he could do in terms of costs. If we need another car down the road, we want to work with A.B. again for sure. Also big shout out to him as well for introducing me to this next person below.
Karol Gonzales: Besides getting the car we wanted at the price we were comfortable with, Karol found a way to save us a large sum of money a year on our insurance which is huge. We have two teen drivers on our plan, which will always lead to higher costs but she found a way to keep us with a major carrier and save us a substantial sum of money each year. She was the big bonus of this great experience at Brandon Hyundai. We can’t thank her enough for helping us out with our insurance plans.
Overall, if you want an experience where you feel cared for and not just another customer walking through the door, go see the staff at Brandon Hyundai. You won’t regret it.
This might actually have been the worst buying experience I’ve ever had. There was gimmick after gimmick, shady salesmanship, actual and blatant violation of FTC regulations (mandating PPP+ after I already have the same coverage through the manufacturers warranty, making the PPP+ absolutely NOT beneficial to me), etc. After 4 hours in the dealership, the price was $3k more than what we agreed upon so they had to redo the paperwork…for the third time. Be careful because they will slip costs by you and if you don’t read through every single line, you’ll be paying useless costs. So shady. They rope you in with a low base cost and then tack on every cost in the book because “you have to have it”.
Also, a manager literally said to me “there’s no more bread and butter” after advertising this car as CPO, telling me it failed CPO status because of two tires, agreeing to replace the two tires to make it CPO and then telling me that was a favor to me, the buyer. THEY ADVERTISED IT THAT WAY!
Every last one of them are shady liars. 0/10. Do not recommend.
We put in a credit app for a car the day before, they said they couldn't make it happen due to the down payment, and the banks wouldn't play ball with no credit for an 8-year-old car. Which is fine.
What is not fine? Calling us the next day, saying that they can get us into the car. Only to get there and it not be the one previously gone for, but one that was completely different from the original interest.
And they convinced us to go that route, until the monthly payment came along. Where it was 500 a month at 1,000 down. Multiple, and I do mean MULTIPLE, times they were told that 500 we couldn't do. So, they said, let us go see if we have a different one. DESPITE having hit us with, "this is the only car on the lot we have for you."
Let it be made clear, they were told MULTIPLE times, to THREE DIFFERENT PEOPLE, that we cannot go higher than a 1,000 down payment. We cannot go higher than a $400 a month payment for the car, as the cost of living makes that virtually impossible.
They were explained this. SO! They find a car, HUZZAH! So, our salesman goes to get it. It is at this point that we realize, hey, wait a second. They never gave back the license! Fast forward 10 minutes, STILL waiting on them to get the car over so we can see and test drive it.
Asked someone if they could get our license from the file? They say the salesman has it ON HIS PERSON to go get the car, and that they had no idea where he was at that current time aside from getting this mystical car (spoiler alert, we never got to see this car)
10 more minutes pass. Someone else entirely comes over and says it's in the file, let me grab it for you and the Carfax. They only come back with the Carfax. 😐
Another 5 minutes. The salesman comes back, says the car he went to get is up on a service rack because it evidently just came in.
Fun.
SO! They were gonna pull a car that was pretty much the same, aside from the year, to show us that one instead.
Remember that guy who came back with the Carfax? He kind of usurps the other guy's sale. Saying that he was taking over, and it would take him 2 to 3 minutes, maybe even 5, to get on the phone with the bank to hammer something out, something like the first car but lower.
Once again, they were told, if they come back with anything over $400 a month for the payment, we will be walking out of here. They said yeah, yeah ok!
The test drive? Goes great, we actually like the car! Whoo!
10....20....30 MORE MINUTES AFTER WE GET BACK LATER.
The guy who had 'taken over' the sale? IS ACTIVELY SELLING A CAR TO SOMEONE ELSE IN THE BOOTH NEXT TO US.
While the original salesman basically avoids us during that time, outside of bringing us water.
Ya wanna know why? He comes back with. "Ok! So we can make this happen at $545 a month if you can put $3,000 down."
..........
Are we speaking Latin? Did we somehow lose Google Translate and start speaking Greek?
In short, 2 and a half hours of our time. 4 PM - 6:30 PM was wasted, talking to brick walls.
Thank you for your time.
