    Overall, I had a good experience with Alamo, but the beginning of my rental was extremely frustrating and could have been handled much better. I reserved my rental for a 4:00 AM pickup at the Tampa Airport location and arrived right on time. When I got to the Alamo counter, there was a sign stating that Enterprise would assist customers because Alamo was closed. We followed those instructions, only to be told to go downstairs to the first floor. After going downstairs, there wasn’t a single employee at any of the rental counters. Airport security even told us that no one was ever there at that hour and directed us elsewhere. We continued searching but still couldn’t find anyone. It honestly felt like a wild goose chase. After wasting a significant amount of time trying to locate an employee, we had no choice but to drive 25 minutes back home and return at 6:00 AM. Thankfully, someone was finally there. When I explained what had happened and asked why no one was available at 4:00 AM, it felt like I was being told that someone had been there the whole time, even though we had already gone exactly where the signs and staff instructed us to go. We even suggested checking the security cameras to verify that no one was present. We had also contacted corporate while this was happening, and they attempted to call the location several times, leaving messages without receiving a response. Even corporate seemed confused about the situation. To the manager’s credit, he apologized and gave us a discount, which I genuinely appreciated. However, the entire ordeal delayed the start of our trip by nearly three hours, which was incredibly inconvenient and disappointing—especially for a location that operates at a 24-hour airport. Once we finally received the vehicle, everything else went very smoothly. The pickup process itself was quick and easy—they simply checked my driver’s license and credit card, and I was able to choose any midsize vehicle from the available selection, which I thought was a nice touch. The car was clean, drove great, and gave us no issues throughout the trip. Returning the vehicle was just as easy and hassle-free. Overall, I would rent from Alamo again because the vehicle quality and the actual rental process were excellent. My only hope is that they improve their early-morning staffing and communication so future customers don’t experience the same confusion and delays that we did.

    I had a very positive experience renting from Alamo. Although there were a couple of minor inconveniences—the key fob battery needed to be replaced, and there was a small leak near the passenger-side window—Alamo handled both situations promptly and fairly. They compensated us for the inconvenience without any hassle or having to make it into a bigger issue. It's refreshing to work with a company that genuinely values its customers and stands behind its service. The staff was professional, responsive, and easy to work with throughout the rental. I would definitely rent from Alamo again and appreciate the way they handled the situation.

    It had been a few years since I’d rented a vehicle. The procedure for picking up was so quick and easy. I was needing a pickup; they just pointed me toward a row of pickups and told me to take whichever I wanted; Ford, Chevy, Nissan, Toyota. I chose a Honda Ridgeline. They finalized the rental at the “toll booth” exit. Return was just as easy. An agent met me before I was out of the vehicle. He did a quick walk around, asked if everything was satisfactory, showed me the final bill, and I was on my way. The entire experience was superb!

    I’m not the biggest fan of writing reviews but NICK from Alamo genuinely saved my life a couple of days ago. After travel hiccups to make my brother’s proposal - I was at my wit ends. Nothing seemed to be working as my previous car rental lost my reservation very last minute. I went to every car rental business in the Tampa airport (July 4th weekend) and no one could help me. Not only did Nick get me on the road to make the proposal, he was so patient, encouraging, and supportive while we problem solved. Whenever a stranger cares to carry your problems as their own, it speaks volumes of their integrity. Thanks to Nick, I made it to my brother’s proposal 4 minutes before 😭♥️ I’m so so so grateful for the way he handled the situation. Give that man a promotion!!! Haha thanks Alamo!

    This was the most disappointing experience I’ve had renting a car. We made reservations over 2 months ago for a mustang convertible bc we were going to Clearwater beach Florida to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and we honeymooned in Clearwater beach and rented a convertible then. We did not learn that we weren’t getting the car we requested until we landed and got to the counter. They offered us a luxury car or a jeep with an $80 discount off our rate. This is completely unacceptable. If I had known we weren’t getting the convertible I would have rented the cheapest car you have. We were planning to cruise Gulf boulevard in the evenings with the top down like when we were kids 40 years ago. You took away a part of the enjoyment of our vacation. My husband is a big car guy - has a Shelby in the garage at home - and I was surprising him. When I complained the guys said it’s out of their control they can only rent what is in the fleet. DO NOT offer cars that you have no intentions of making available to your customers. I don’t know how you can run a business like this. When I reserved the car it said mustang convertible or similar. A BMW with a sunroof IS NOT similar to a mustang convertible. You’re in the car business - you should know that. Beyond disappointing!!!
