When I asked for the most basic wash, the man (older, white man, grey hair) did not scroll down on the iPad and charged me for the $19 wax wash instead of the $13 basic soap and water wash. I know it’s standard practice to sell the most expensive wash, but every time I’ve gone to this location in the past and asked for the most basic, it’s been given to me with no issue. When my friend then asked for the $13 wash, the employee said “you could have just used the screen yourself then” and attempted to take her phone for Apple Pay and tried to complete the transaction himself. I know it’s hot out and we are all a little cranky, but let’s try not to put an unhelpful swindler at the only customer-facing station in the wash! When I ask for the “most basic” I’m clearly not asking for the one that’s a step up from the bottom. Don’t try to sneakily hide the lowest option on the iPad. Mourning my $7 I could have saved.
