I came in today to exchange a light bulb that I had purchased about a month ago from a different Advance Auto Parts location. Before coming here, I went to the Sunset Strip location to exchange the bulb, but they gave me a very difficult time and told me they could not find my purchase history because I had purchased it at another location. I then came to this location, which is about a mile away, and the experience was completely different. The employee simply entered my phone number into the system and immediately found my purchase history. He said, “Sir, it looks like you bought this bulb about a month ago,” and proceeded to give me a replacement without any problems. I really appreciate the professionalism, patience, and willingness to help. After the frustrating experience at the Sunset Strip location, this employee made the entire process quick and easy. This is exactly what good customer service should look like. Great job to the staff at this location! I will definitely be coming back here for my future auto parts needs.

What are the signs of a bad car battery?
Signs of a bad car battery can range from the need for frequent jump starts, slow to start, cranks or clicks but won't start, dash lights work but the vehicle won't start, etc.

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
